    • Extra depth boots with a caveat

These are extra depth but the soles are super thin. With custom orthotics they lasted me 6 months walking about a half mile a day. After that the balls of my feet started to develop calluses; the exact thing these boots were bought to prevent. I am not a fan of the elastic shoe strings that cannot be tightened. I have problems with my hips and knees. Wearing these shoes allow me to walk longer distances without pain. The arch support is what seems to be helping me out. This is my second pair of Dr. Comfort Rangers. I have them modified with a rocker bottom placed in the sole. The first pair has lasted a year and I'm still wearing them but they are getting worn pretty bad so I wanted a new pair. I wear these boots everyday and all day long since I have to have a boot with the rocker bottom added. The only negative comment would be the leather strap will stretch after multiple wearings, I just asked the gentleman who repairs and does my rocker to shorten the straps and he did. I would highly recommend these boots, if you have had a shattered heel and an ankle fusion these boots add needed support and are great to have the rocker bottom added. ... show more
