I'm away from home and stuck with the camera on my (outdated) cell phone, otherwise I'd show off more pictures of this bit. It's long and skinny, with a massive cutting depth. In fact, I'd say that you should be super careful with your CNC or trim router settings before attempting to use this. The shaft is perhaps the nicest I have seen in a 1/4 bit. Absolutely smooth and almost mirror like, with an engraved logo. The spirals are smooth and sharp and the bit overall is just machined perfectly. The blue finish is applied well and gives the bit a striking look. It will take a bit of time to run this as I have to make sure that my setup is safe for a thin bit of this type.     • Works great
I got this bit to use in my new Shapeoko CNC machine. It's pretty well known that down-cutting spiral bits (like this one) leave a better top-side finish than up-cutting bits, with little or no "fuzzies" that have to be sanded off. On the other hand, down-cutting bits can't clear out chips as well, which can slow down the feed rate the bit can achieve without heating up or breaking. Since this is only a 1/8" bit, I recommend being especially careful with your feed rate. Beyond that, this bit is extremely sharp, and is indeed solid carbide as advertised. As said in the description, it's extra long; significantly longer than other bits in my collection. There are cutting edges extending across the tip of the bit, so it will be fine for plunge cuts.
