Have you ever tried to build a wall that's level using only a string as a guide? I have, and it wasn't easy. I tied my string and then held my level next to it and tried to see if it was even without touching it (because that would mess it up). I build my retaining wall based on that string and had to go back constantly to level it out. I was able to do it, but it took a lot longer than if I had used some of these. As you would expect, these bubble levels are calibrated correctly (otherwise it would be an automatic one star) and they hang easily on any normal sized string. The hooks are actually reversed directions so, while still easy to put on the string, you could move it back and forth without worrying too much that it's going to fall off. I also like that each one has a little clip on the side so it's easy to hang on a pocket rather than falling to the bottom of some abyss. The clips (along with the rest of it) are basic plastic so you have to be a little careful, but not so careful that they break just by looking at them. And if you do break one, guess what, you have spares! That's actually my favorite thing about this set. You get six levels! I know, it doesn't sound that amazing, but I tend to misplace things when I'm working on a project. I have three or four hammers, several box cutters, and don't even get me started on tape measures. They always just seem to disappear, but with these, you have enough to run multiple strings and still have extras! These mini spirit line levels are pretty decent for the price. They are 3" long from tip to tip and the visible glass portion is 1.5" long. The glass spirit level works well but the plastic casing feels a little cheap. I lined them all up side by side on a level surface along with my trusty spirit level and they all registered correctly within the 2 black lines on the glass. They passed the level test alright. They all have the line hangers as well as the V-shaped groove at the bottom as advertised. They also have a little shirt clip on the side, which is a nice touch. I like that the bubble is highly visible from both the top and the bottom. It is also visible for the most part from the side as well. All in tall, these are pretty decent and work well for what they are designed to do. The material and build quality is just decent. Not the best quality and not the worst neither. The packaging looks like it is from some budget harbor store. With that said, they are inexpensive. They get the job done. ... show more

This 6-Pack of Hanging Bubble Line Levels by DOWELL saved the day when recently installing an ubove ground pool! Needing a way to level the very unlevel ground in preperation for an above ground pool, these line levels with adjusting angle balance measuring were what helped us to do so. We tried other leveling products but they wouldn't five us accurate level measurements. We added these levels to our X shaped line strings by easily sliding the string through the 2 opens on these levels tops. Sliding the strings up and down or side post until the bubble in the center a baseline levels with evenly floating in its Center. This was much quicker and easier to create a level ground for our pool. This pack has 6 identical yellow plastic shell line levels are hollow making them very lightweight. Rhey have different molded clips on them which helped to attach them to lines, vertical and horizontal. They are easy to use and read, in many different angle, from top, side, or bottom! We had way,less line sag because of how lightweight these line levels are compared to the other methods we tried that put too much pressure on our lines. The Fluorescence bubbles were easy to see even when the sun had started to set. Honestly, I was shocked at how useful these inexpensive tools were. Functionality is key and these exceeded my expectations! Needless to say, after many hours and days of hard work, the pool is up and level! ... show more

These mini spirit line levels are very decent! They are well constructed and they work excellent! They are great for many projects, including installing an ubove ground pool! It is also very light-weighted and accurate! They are in a good level and the bubble: level lines can be viewed from above, side or below! Which is amazing! Also the special hooks are open-style to allow the mini bubble level sliding along the linear freely, which is also wonderful!
