This little thing is a very simple tool. Turn it on, set it down and it tells you the angle. It's very light very compact and the LCD screen is easy to read. The best part of this is the strength of the magnet. FINALLY, someone figured out how to put a GOOD magnet in a tool! I'm blown away by this.... Its the first tool I've found that actually has a sufficient magnet! This is Klein though....their products are usually better quality than most. Wish they could inform the rest of the tool world on how to properly choose a magnet. Ive used mine quite a bit in the last month. I've dropped it several times, it looks very rough now from grease and dirt, but is still dead on. And I mean dead on. I've cleaned it a couple times with brake kleen and it doesn't bother the housing at all, and I've SOAKED it. Green or red can have no effect. I do like the auto off function. I've left it under a couple cars overnight by accident. Speaking of which, I did take a 25mile test drive, git back under the truck and found it still attached! It stayed on for the trip at 70mph! Epic tool for chassis builders! magnetic base is a life-saver and tool seems to be extremely accurate. Great functionality, extremely durable and saves a ton of time over other angle finding tools. LCD display is just the right brightness for the shop. Go ahead and buy it!

I primarily use it with my knife sharpener to make sure I’m getting the exact angle on my blades, and it’s made a noticeable difference in consistency and sharpness.     • Why plastic?
Style: Level
I mean, I know why plastic. Plastic cheap. But it still feels weird that a device that can measure tenths of degrees is relying on a base that can be deformed as easily as whatever plastic this case is made of. You can recalibrate the level; it works by placing it on a surface, then rotating it to face away from you. This should reasonably find true level, as long as the base and surface are flat. But almost anything could cause a plastic base to be not-flat. Almost anything can deform this sort of plastic. It does come with a nylon case, which should hopefully prevent incidental deformation, and I suppose that if something else happens to it, you should be able to sand down the plastic to get it flat again and then recalibrate. The recalibration process is not hard, but it's not exactly obvious. It does come with an instruction leaflet that explains how to do it. It seems like it would be a no-brainer to make it so that the leaflet fit in the case, but apparently the person who designed the instruction leaflet didn't think that far ahead. I mean, it'll fit, but you gotta kinda cram it in there. That said, it works well and is reasonably easy to read. I personally think that the icon that shows which direction it's tilted is backwards from what it ought to be, but worse things have happened. ... show more

A tad pricey, but definitely worth it if you want a quality, no-nonsense tool. I used it when determining my caster and camber on my old Jeep when I was modifying the suspension. Arrived fast. Works great, I use it to verify and set angles on my tablesaw, bandsaw and miter saw. I also have one at the shop to verify vehicle frame angles when performing wheel alignments. Small and lightweight but easily readable with its bright screen. Magnetic to allow for it to hold itself to the frame of the vehicle, saw blades, or tables and then I can just stick it to the outside of my cabinet or tool box for easy access the next time I need it. It is also significantly less expensive than some of the purpose built options for measuring frame angle.
