I have used Dove's 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner for decades. It works extremely well doing everything you need to care for your hair all at once. And, it doesn't require that you stand around in the shower waiting for the conditioner to work. michaelpaul50

UPDATED COMMENTS (9/3/24) - ORIGINAL REVIEW UNDERNEATH I felt the need to revise my review after I discovered that this Dove 2-in-1 contains two sulfates: Sodium C12-13 Pareth Sulfate - the second ingredient listed, after water - and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) - which is a known skin irritant (and whose sister sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), is often found in toothpaste and can cause canker sores, as it consistently has for me). I started having scalp issues a few months ago, which I'd never had before, so looked into what might be causing it. That's when I discovered that sulfates are found in many shampoos/conditioners, including this one, and often lead to irritation in the scalp and skin. I must have developed a sensitivity to the sulfates in my scalp over time. I will no longer be using this product. All my other comments in my original review, below, still stand regarding the efficacy and handling/ease of use of the Dove 2-in-1. Except for the sulfates, it's a great product. I just wanted you to be aware of the sulfates in case you turn out to be sensitive to them too. It's such a bummer, because this was my all-time favorite 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner - and so convenient. I just wish manufacturers, especially health-oriented ones like Dove, would stay on top of ingredients such as sulfates that are subsequently found to be harmful to a large number of people, and replace them with less harmful ingredients when that happens. Some shampoo/conditioner manufacturers have managed to do so (though Pantene 2-in-1, my standby before I switched to Dove, has SLS, which some believe is more potentially harmful than these other two sulfates). I have adjusted my rating from 5 to 4, to account for the inclusion of sulfates. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is my favorite 2-in-1. I'm now on my third bottle. It cleans super well, doesn't appear to leave any buildup, and both lathers and washes out really well. The consistency is perfect, and you just need a small amount (a bottle lasts a long time). The size of the bottle is also perfect - compact and easy to lift and get a good grip on even with wet/slippery hands. The scent is nice and fresh, but not overpowering. Also, the shampoo stays good for a long time. I just realized I bought this set of four in 2018 (!), and it appears completely new and fresh, as if just bought. I'd been a longtime user of Pantene 2-in-1, which I loved until they apparently changed their formula a few years ago. The new (not improved) Pantene would leave a clear buildup (coating?) on my hair right after washing, and my hair would look and feel greasy - ugh. I tried all the different variations of Pantene's 2-in-1, to see if any were better, but pretty much all of them left my hair the same way. I never got behind the mystery of that, and started wondering whether it was a change in my water, but other reviews have reported the same and I finally walked away and decided to try another brand. ... show more

This is wonderful 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner that has a great scent for men and women. The shampoo/conditioner has a very rich and silky texture compared to other products of the same price and makes my hair very smooth and manageable. The 20.8 oz bottles will last a long time and you cannot beat that amazing price! I will definitely be ordering this again when I run out. The only gripe I have is with the shipping and delivery time. I ordered this product on April 30, 2018 and received it on June 6, 2018. I understand the disclaimer stating ”Usually ships within 1-2 months,” but just wish they could find a way to reduce this timeframe because it's such a great product! ... show more
