Just received it today, seems very good, works great so far and the wood blades are carbide tips. I chose this saw over others because of the extra handle that you can attach or leave off easily.

I was after a small circular saw to use for my occasional home improvements-cutting shelves, etc. I wanted electric and small and not $100+. I have small hands and I’m not strong. I liked that it came with multiple blades and the laser guide was a bonus. It is surprisingly better than I expected. Pros: I was able to change the blade within a few minutes snd not break a nail. The instructions are decent. Not great but I figured it out. The laser guide was fabulous! The blade was sharp and I barely had to sand the edge of my shelf. The cord is a good length. Cons-although none of these are deal breakers just a note so you’re prepared. It’s loud. Earplugs-use them. The chute for the sawdust exhaust has to be pointed down and doesn’t work the best. I tried with and without and without may be the better. For anyone with small hands: the safety push button and the trigger are almost a two handed job for me and it was uncomfortable. Again, for small jobs, it’s doable. Be sure to put the left hand hold on-it makes it more stable (I probably couldn’t have used it without that actually). The safety button/operation trigger placement is the only reason I didn’t give this 5stars.

This 4 1/2" circular saw is a great addition to any tool collection! It is a convenient size for most homeowner "Do It Yourself" projects. Easy to handle. The saw is very well built, powerful for its size, and sturdy. It comes with a built in LASER alignment light, a metal guide that is accurate (matches my tape measure marks exactly), depth adjustment, and angle adjustment. The package includes six blades (which are easy to change), an Allen wrench that fits all of the adjustment points, and a carrying case that is perfect in size, with room for safety goggles as well. The price is well below the "name brands" such as Rockwell and DeWalt. The kit also includes some items that the established brands leave out. This is one of the very best tool purchases that I have ever made!

Handy tool to have in your arsenal! I like how easy this is to use. It's lightweight, cuts how it should and makes small jobs much quicker. We use this tool frequently. It's easy to grab and make cuts quickly. I like the lightweight design. Even my older teenager who is in shop class can easily use it for projects. It's worth the money.

The performance is excellent, and it deserves 5 stars - but you must have big hands for the proper grip. The weight would not be a problem if the Safety button is relocated from the left side to the top. That is the biggest design flaw that I see with this DOVAMAN Circular Saw. The safety button is located on the left side - meaning if you are right-handed like myself and with average or small hands, it is impossible to reach across the neck and hold down the safety button with your thumb while pulling the trigger with your fingers at the same time. That is how most small and light weight power tools are designed to work - but this tool is NOT light weight. If this DOVERMAN Saw was re-designed with the safety button on the Top instead of the left Side, I would easily give it 5 Stars. My solution to the problem was to use a clamp to permanently hold down the safety button ( see picture : Not really recommended for safety purpose). That freed up my right fingers to easily pull the trigger and my thumb to grip the top. I hope the manufacturers will take note and improve on the design.

Well made mini circular saw, with good quality material and construction. Much heavier and larger than expected, especially being AC powered, without a heavy battery pack. This saw is actually heavier than our full-size regular circular saw. Good accurate cutting, but sometimes hard to see metal guide when saw dust accumulates. Not sure how to fit included small vacuum adapter onto vacuum cleaner hose, as not covered in instructions. Needs a detailed printed instructions manual, in addition to the online video. Laser light very handy, but needs extra batteries, as the provided batteries were already pre-installed and not sure how long they were there and depleted. Seems very durable and very powerful. Good value for money. But wish it was lighter and more compact for easier maneuvering, handling, and control. The centered placement of the saw blade, versus foward positioning, means it may not cut all the way to the end, within tightly enclosed spaces. Very good value with the four different blades included. It would be better if a storage carrying case was provided, and not an extra cost. Recommended when on sale.
