Never having used one of these types of platform mattresses before, I was pleasantly surprised. It arrived vacuum seal packed in a 5'3" tall x 11" wide, approximately 79 lbs in weight, box. There was help getting it inside to the bedroom where it was unfurled directly to the Amazon purchased, platform foundation. One thing I am disappointed with is I ordered a 12 inch and this is only 11 inches in height, and a little bit smaller than my 16" deep pocket, queen size sheet sets. I hemmed and hawed and read too many reviews, plus, asked around about these over the past couple of years to have a bit of an understanding and expectation of how these actually work before I finally ordered this well made one made by Dourxi. I was able to order ahead of time and lucky enough to let it expand for the Dourxi recommended, FULL THREE days, before trying it out. With that said, this is a VERY well made mattress from a box in my opinion! And, I would purchase Dourxi again based on my excellent sleep experience with this mattress. This is also well sewn with quality seams and trim. The casing is soft to touch but my mattress protector and sheets completely encase the beautiful material and trim so I don't understand why people talk about that. There was NO odor or ANY chemical smell that released from it at ALL. The box says 'natural and organic', but I don't really know if that is true or not. What I do know is that it hasn't caused me any headaches, back, hips, or lupus flare ups. So far, my experience is it's very comfortable sleeping on it. I ordered the plush medium soft and it's exactly what I wanted. I do not like firm, hard, or full sinking into, memory foam mattresses. I have previously had and slept on well known Casper, Denver, Serta, Sleep by Number, etc. and those hurt my back and hips. Plus, I couldn't afford thousands of dollars to hit or miss this time around. So far, this plush medium soft Dourxi is a very comfortable experience for me and my troublesome back and hips to sleep on. Amazon also had this one on an affordable deal, and I am VERY glad I ordered it! I’m skeptical about buying mattresses without feeling them but I took a chance on this one and it is sooo comfortable. It inflated instantly the only issue was the box was VERY heavy I moved it and took it out myself and it was very hard you will need someone to help you lift the box. This is extremely soft and comfortable. I bought this for our guest room. It seemed a little strange to receive a mattress through the mail in a small, but heavy package. Watch out when you open the box, though. It expands quickly like something from an I Love Lucy rerun! We gave it three days before sitting or lying on it. The construction is a little weird for those of us who are used to mattresses and box springs, but it is really comfy! The media could not be loaded. I will update this review after one month of use. packaging was super heavy but once opened it expanded quickly. I am going to use the seller’s recommendation and wait the full 72 hours before sleeping on it but I did sneak a little test lay and I have to say for the price of this mattress I am pleasantly surprised. Even though it’s not fully expanded it seems like it’s going to be really comfy! I can’t speak to the longevity of the mattress yet but I’ll update. The only thing right off the bat I noticed was the lack of edge support, basically there is none but overall for the price you can’t beat it! The material is soft, and there was no oder upon opening. For now ill give a 3 star until I know how it feels to sleep on it. Update: just about 2 weeks into sleeping on this mattress. So far I’ve noticed that although the edges did firm up just a bit they are still not supportive and you absolutely will slide right off the side. It is not plush in my personal opinion and a little more firm than I expected but hopefully with time and the addition of a pillow topper it will soften. This bed sleeps really hot, but it’s not a big deal to me as I keep my room chilly but if your a hot sleeper this might not be for you. Overall I do think that so far this was a good choice for the price (it was 389 on sale when bought). For the most part it’s actually pretty good quality. I won’t say it’s the most amazing bed I’ve slept on but also definitely not the worst. Update: I think this will be my final review update. Unfortunately the bed is not the best. I really wanted to love it but after a few more weeks it honestly seems like it’s become even more firm. I added a topper which does help a bit however not much. If you like a firm mattress this will work for you! If you prefer a softer plush feel skip this product.
