The media could not be loaded. *Update* my fears were realized today when less than 4 months have passed and the screen no longer works. I can’t even describe what’s happening so I took videos and pictures. It’s like taking acid and trying to drive. It’s a little weird connecting for the first time but the Apple Airplay works and the screen is clear and big. Can maybe angle it 5-10 degrees max but it makes a difference. Screen is fairly responsive but the price is really good. Will report back after some use.

First off, the glass was chipped out of the box, Decided to still put it the truck(my mistake). Second, the Bluetooth doesn’t connect, went through all the trouble shooting. Then when you connect via Apple connect through a wire, it takes 20 mins( not exaggerating) to actually connect. Once it connects, it skips so bad it sounds like you have a CD in it. Don’t get me started about not being able to connect it to the internet to use the apps that are advertised. Save your money and buy a high quality. Might cost a little more but lesson learned on buying off brand stereos.

Update: So if you plan to use this with Apple CarPlay I wouldn't recommend it. Which is unfortunate. CarPlay is a big reason I purchased. Everything else seems to work great except for that. If you connect an iPhone directly to the deck but don't use CarPlay, audio is crisp, clear, and responsive. However connecting it to CarPlay results in a lag of about 2-3 seconds. It sounds like a small amount but it is enough to disrupt conversations pretty badly. Additionally, the audio quality is not good. It is choppy and breaks up and so does audio from Siri (messages, maps, etc). These all seem to be due to the processing of the Bluetooth data transfers from the phone, to the device, and then processing it though the CarPlay app. All this is even after working with the company support (which is actually very good) and applying a firmware update. FWIW I have also attempted to connect via USB which was weird. ---- Not gonna lie. This was easier than the stereos I used to install as a kid. Granted, I had an OEM to aftermarket harness so I didn't need to individually connect each wire. Basically plug-n-play. I will likely update this in the near future as I get everything completely installed and cables run, but so far it's pretty great. So far though, Apple Car Play just worked OOB. I was able to map my steering wheel controls without any additional connectors or CAMBUS connected. Left to do is run the mic and camera. All in all, pretty dang impressed. To be continued.... UPDATE: So CarPlay seems a little finicky. I haven’t had the chance to install and run the noice canceling mic yet, but talking in the phone there is a noticeable lag of 3-5 seconds. I have the 4 core version so I’m not sure if it’s the processing power or what. Will update.

I installed this in my 2006 Chevy Silverado and it looks great and works good but I do have a few complaints. When installing I unplugged the screen and when I plugged it back in it took the screen 5 to 1.0 mins of the truck being off for it to turn on. And also the apple car play is nice having maps and music and all your phone up there, but the Audio does have a 3 second delay in it so if you decided to play a video the mouth doesn’t line up with the sound. Or if you try the live lyrics there are slightly ahead because the audio is slightly behind.

Installed this a few weeks ago, so I could have some usage time before writing a review. As others said, maintaining an Apple CarPlay connection is an issue. After about 15-20 minutes, connection is lost, and unable to be reset until the car it shut off again. So don't expect a seamless road trip listening to CarPlay. If you are buying this for the CarPlay feature, buy anything else. Even after the seller's instructions, the GPS does not work. I've followed their instructions and settings, but I think the GPS receiver in my unit is dead. Also the clock shows random times, yes I set it, and my wiring is all correct. Drive to work in the morning it may show an entirely different time zone. Drive to lunch, time is correct. AM/FM works great. At first the AM signal was weak, but I installed an amplified antenna. Not really an Issue with the unit, I just want a stronger signal. Also the microphone needs to be mounted in a spot directly in front of you for calls. Otherwise they cannot hear you. I tried mounting the microphone near my sunvisor, and callers had difficulty hearing me. Moved the microphone to the top of my steering column which made some improvement. Yes I tested personally and had someone call me from the car each time I placed the microphone in different areas for comparison. The screen is large, clear, and has a great format. It looks great, and has great features that don't always work.

I’ve had aftermarket car audio my whole life and this is by far the worst experience yet. Had it two months and the screen went out. No damage, bumps or cracks. It’s detachable and adjustable so it has a very poorly designed ribbon cable. Also, even connected to high speed WiFi it runs very slow or freezes up when using browser or YouTube. I’d give anything for a refund cuz I wouldn’t even want an exchange. I gave 1 star cuz I was forced to
