  • Happy boater
I have an 55hp mercury engine. It is without a tilt and is heavy when full of water. I was unable to lift it from inside the boat. Had to get into the water at launch ramp to lift and drop engine into the water! I now can lift and drop it from the back of the boat. Will work for me until I can figure out a tilt trim .. works as advertised and delivered on time!! It is adjustable so will work on other engines! ... show more

  • Tilts Yamaha 9.9 OK but...
Overall quality is good but, as others have reported, I experienced a kink in the handle during its first use. I slid a galvanized pipe inside the entire length of the handle for reinforcement and it seems to work fine now. I also put a lanyard on it just below the grip so that it won't go overboard if I drop it. Personally, I think it should have come from the factory with a reinforced handle and a lanyard. ... show more

  • Not really a heavy weight
It works , but for an 82 year old man it was a struggle to lift a 40hp motor.

  • Leverage really works.
I have a 25 horse four stroke Yamaha 2015. I bought this tilter to help me lift the motor while in the boat. This works perfect for me, There is about 1/4 inch clearance tight but not damaging. No modifications straight out of the box. I hope this helps I am 73 and this finally Allows me left my motor in shallow water with ease ... show more

  • Back saver!
I used this for the first time yesterday to lift my 40 hp motor when we went fishing. Should have purchased it years ago. I am 60 with back issues, always dreaded lifting the motor up after driving the boat onto the trailer getting ready to pull off of the boat ramp. This is way easy to use and saves possible injury and strain on my back. Installing a hydraulic tilt system would cost me around $1200, this was around $80, a no brainer. ... show more

  • Poor quality
First use the handle bent, I replaced it with a stronger handle then the aluminum broke where the handle hooks in. My motor is well under the size it says it will do. Lot of money for something that dosnt work.
