My 2005 Tahoe came with a loose battery, no hold down at all, and a rusted out tray. I had to buy the tray and a new hold down separately. They work well and hold the battery down securely now. I just wish the two pieces came as a set (as pictured.)

My Tahoe battery tray was pretty rusty and old so I figured it was time for a new one. Unfortunately GM discontinued the oem truck trays so I was forced to buy aftermarket, which lead me to this. All the reviews said the tray was good so I picked one up. First thing I noticed was that the angled part with the 2 holes was not at the correct angle. No problem, as I was able to put it in my vise and tweak it to the right angle. After getting it right, the holes still didn’t line up 100% but the holes are slotted so not a big deal. Then I tightened everything up like normal, and put the battery on. It was only then I noticed that the battery tray must have warped on install and the battery would not sit flat. I tried removing and reinstalling and it still didn’t sit right. I took it out and noticed it had indeed warped. The metal is not thin by any means but it’s not really “sturdy”. I also didn’t crank the bolts in or do anything crazy I just used some normal “snug the bolts” in force. Going to have return this and try a different brand… ... show more

This was exactly like my factory battery tray on driver's side of 2000 GMC Sierra 1500. Solid metal also. Would be convenient if it came with new bolts but no complaints on product itself.

This part is better than I expected. Nice thick metal, good paint and fits perfectly. My old bolts were rusty and took some persuading, but eventually came loose. The only way this part could be better is if it came with new hardware (bolts). But for the price, a trip to the hardware store or the local "pull your own part" yard is worth it. (By the way, the 10mm bolts that hold the rear passenger assist handle-right behind the front seats on the upper door pillar work great for the bolts that hold the tray.) ... show more
