  • Awesome day ed
Color: Espresso
This is a nice daybed, easy to assemble. I think it was less then an hour to assemble by myself. Start by laying out the side rails on the floor, starting just one side insert screws but do not tighten. Insert the wooden slats then tighten the bolts. Stand it up on end then insert the panel, then place the end piece on top and bolt to the rest of frame. To assemble get a milk crate and balance the long pieces between side rails.start at one end and insert screws and slightly tighten up, start at the other end and insert screws but do not tighten Now do the same for the front rail. But on the front rail tighten the screws until snug now tighten up the screws on the back rail. Go back and check all screws for tightness....all you have to do is screw down all the slats....45 minutes tops!!! Bed had a nice finish, you can see the screw heads but they blend into the finish and hardly notice them. I put a 12" mattress on top and it's all the way to the top of the side rails and you can barely see the back piece. I had already had the mattress prior to purchasing this day bed. Lots of room underneath for storage, I put cubby boxes to store my son's toys. ... show more

  • Perfect bed for toddlers!
Color: Espresso
This bed is great for a child transitioning from a crib to a bed. It's not too high that they can't climb in themselves and gated off on one side for bad sleeping toddlers.

  • Be prepared...
Color: Espresso
I bought this bed to replace another bed for my wife's home office space. I thought it was a good looking bed for the price. Good reasonably price daybeds are hard to find where I live unless you buy from Ikea (2 1/2 hours away). First of all the "minimal assembly required" is an absolute false statement. I consider myself a very handy person. I have made many repairs (appliances, computers, etc) and assembled many products (furniture, electronics, bikes) and let me tell you, this is THE most challenging, time consuming and frustrating projects (yes, projects) I have ever encountered so far in my 57 years of living. This is arguably a two person project, one if you enjoy unique challenges in life. You will definitely need the following: 1. wood glue 2. time 3. Phillips screwdriver or drill for the wood screws 4. time 5. psychiatry or therapy appointments 6. patience The most time consuming steps are the assembly of the wood slats for the rails. You will need some skills to keep them together to complete the sides and back. If you lose the hex tool life will be hard. It would be a good idea to group and lay out all of the parts on the floor before you start especially the rail slats. I started the assembly at 9 PM and stopped at 1 AM. I finished the screwing the bottom wood slats in the morning which only took a few minutes. Overall I am satisfied with the product and achieving the completion of this assembly. ... show more

  • Great, but know what you are doing to build, it. Handy person needed.
Color: Espresso
NOTE in 2016 I paid 186.00 Amazon prime and it was 5 stars for that price. For 240.00 plus its only 3.5 to 4 stars as it is easily marred. Mine look very nice after 18 months, still it has some scuffs. If I had little kids it be all scratched up. I have some ideas why people could not build this, for me it was very straight forward. I laid everything out on a sheet of plywood that I set on two saw horses to give me a large table. I also used two 40" clamps. I built each section by myself and had the entire thing complete in 60 minutes. With a second person using this method using the second person to get all the sub parts togehter it would take be maybe 30 minutes. Of course I do this stuff all day, someone coming in with zero skills its a 2 hour job even with the tools I mention and get a second person. I am a woodworker, I am thinking some tried to build this on the carpet or even worse straght up and down and not laid flat. . Yeah doing it that way would be nearly impossible, but again because am a woodworker it never even entered my mind to even try to build it that. Do yourself a favor. if you dont have a super large table(I mean very few would have a table this large) , go out and get a sheet of plywood a couple saw horses and two 40" clamps(just return them when done). A screw gun would be helpful as well for me a requirement. With these basic things two people that didn't even know what they were doing could build this pretty darn fast, without this stuff it will be tough. This is a very nice day bed, if I had to make it from scratch I would cost me 600.00 in time and material all said and done. I took a series of pictures on how I built this in an hour by myself. Had I seen these pictures I might have been able to do it in 45 minutes or less the first time. Mt technique nees. For an assembly Table Sheet of plywood Saw horses For the build Painter tape(to hold the back top and bottom salt back together) Rubber Mallet Screw Gun 4 Way Screw driver or 1 flat head one Philips Wrench - I used these because my hands are weak just turn turn the enclosed Allen wrench ... show more
