  • Sturdy and easy to assemble
Color: Grey
This bunk bed was very easy to assemble with clear directions and all parts were packaged nicely. It took me about 2 hours with my 4 and 5 yr olds helping. To speed up the process I used a drill with the hex bit. Some of the screws have to go in pretty far and with the supplied allen key, it was a pain. It seems very sturdy once assembled, the top bunk fits on the bottom with very large wooden dowels so you can unstack later on if needed. The box was pretty big, obviously, and weighed in around 120 lbs as I recall. Having someone to help you move it around is nice. When you unbox, there are a lot of pieces, so it's nice to have an open area to lay things out for inventory. All the hardware comes packaged together and labeled nicely which I was very grateful for. The ladder is sturdy, and it can be screwed in place, however, that makes it very difficult to make the bottom bed, so we left it unscrewed. Other than that, I think this is a pretty sweet deal. Overall it's a quality bunk bed at an even better price. We haven't had it up for too long, so we'll adjust this review as necessary. ... show more

  • Really nice bunk bed
Color: Grey
I love this bed. We had a metal frame bunk bed that broke in no time at all. So we ordered this one to replace it. This bed is sturdy solid wood. It was easy for me and my husband to put together. We did have some bolts that were the wrong for. They gave to many of the wrong part and not enough of the one we needed. So we went to the hardware store to get the right screws to finish it up. Overall it’s a great bed for the price. Very happy with the purchase ... show more

  • Decent quality for the price point. Requires two people move and assemble, and over four hours of assembly time with basic tools
Color: White
Overall, this is a decent quality, young children's bed for the price point. There are some issues with quality control, primarily a result of lesser quality lumber, but not unexpected due to the cost. As shipped, the box requires two people to move around. Assembly is tedious, but only requires a second person to mount the upper bunk on the lower. A drill will greatly speed up assembly time. The bed is constructed from a combination of pine for the finished pieces and plywood/laminate for the mattress slats. It appears that the pine has not been dried completely before milling and some the pieces may develop cracks over time as a result. Obviously, cracks can weaken the bed's structural integrity depending on their severity and location. In the three months since purchase, I have noticed only a few small cracks in the spacers between the top bunk slats, nothing that has given me concerns about integrity or safety. The bed requires full assembly, headers and footers are boxed as components, not completed pieces. Hardware consists of Allen bolts, cabinet nuts, wood screws and wooden dowels. Although easy to assemble with a Phillips screwdriver and the included Allen wrench, it is a tedious affair. The use of t-handled Allen wrenches, and a drill with both screw and hex bits, will reduce build time. I also recommend the use of wood glue during assembly of the headers and footers. Assembly was straightforward, taking approximately three hours with the aforementioned tools and glue. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The only issues I encountered during assembly were difficult to remove labels identifying each of the wood parts, and plywood had separated on two of the bed slats requiring glue and clamps to repair. All of the pre-drilled holes and screw marks lined up. Mounting the top bunk frame proved to be a two-person task, but the remainder could be managed by one person. The slats are spaced too far apart for the use of a futon-style mattress. As shipped, this is not a bed for adult use. It may be possible for a single adult to sleep on the lower bunk, but this will require more sturdy slats and a foundation. Adults and older children should not use the top bunk at all. The guard rails are of a safe height, but like the ladder, limited to the pictured configuration. The bed is finished with a low-gloss white paint. I saw no visible drips or runs during assembly. ... show more

  • Reasonable price for benefit of bunks
Color: White
Relatively easy to assemble. Didn't take longer than 3-4 hours... With a toddler forcing breaks upon us! Pay attention to: 1. Top headboard pieces for the full bed so that the peg holes are aligned on the same side so the twin can be placed in on top. We forgot to and had to untighten one side to flip. Not serious but a nuisance. 2. Side frames of the beds where the bed rests on. Make sure the twin has the same slotted ones bc there are pre-drilled holes for a cross panel with small wood pegs to be inserted in the center. Recommend using a power drill then hand tighten screws for the last bit to secure the base planks for mattresses to sit on. Speeds things up significantly. Overall for the price, the lower quality wood material is to be expected. Noticed some cracks in some pieces of wood as mentioned by others. When I was peeling off a sticker label, I indented the wood with my own finger...🤔 Overall, it feels sturdy for a toddler. Both parents on separate occasions (200lbs &150lbs) have climbed up to read stories. Probably won't do this all the time tho. We don't anticipate him jumping on top bunk bc his head is close to ceiling when standing and don't recommend it based on the slats. He's 40lbs. Overall height is good, not too tall and daunting for a 4yr old to climb and mom(5'3) can reach top bunk from floor. We purchased a 5 inch twin mattress; it allows for good vertical space for him not to roll off the sides. Our son moves all over when sleeping! We got the white which looks clean and less cluttered in the room. He loves it and it allows for more space in the room especially if family can come visit. ... show more
