Edited: 2/13/23: I have purchased a few guitars since starting with one late in 2018. I still to this day play this Donner guitar for practice. It’s got a nice C neck that fits well in my hands. Nothing on here is high quality, but it still sounds good through an amp, great with guitar effects, and will hold tune long enough for practicing and playing. This is a great first guitar for beginners who aren’t sure if they will stick to playing/be committed. Original Review: Great Guitar and accessories! Packed very well, guitar sounds wonderful, right outta the box! Quick tuning, and your ready to roll. No complaints, just straight happy with this purchase! I haven’t played in over 30 years, so got this beginner guitar, and I can honestly say it sounds beautiful, looks beautiful. Great little amp, perfect for practice, not for performing. Don’t pass this up if your debating between othe guitars around this price point...a true bargain for what you get. Keep on Truckin’ my friends! Update (4/1/2019): I have played this guitar daily since I first opened it in Christmas morning (2018). I still stand firm with my review. Only two negative points to mention now that I have spent lots of time with my sunburst friend. Guitar goes out of tune fairly easily and often when playing, and sometimes while having it on the guitar stand I purchased for it. It’s still very manageable, but a little irritating at times. 2nd negative is the tone and switching between pick ups. When switching between certain tones, there is no change. Not a huge deal for me, but depending on what your playing, not having certain tones right where you want them can be a little annoying. Otherwise, this is still an amazing deal and perfect for any beginner or casual player looking for guitar (package) in this price range. Enjoy✌🏼 UPDATE 12/13/2020: I brought this in to my local guitar shop, has it set up proper, and it sounds excellent. The switches work great, also had the frets filed down some, since they were poking out and caused some scratching and cuts on my left hand on my pointer finger. Easy fix you can actually do at home. The action is wonderfully low making it much easier for bar chords and sliding up and down the neck. So again, I stand by my original review - it’s a perfect guitar for beginners and those who are picking up a guitar after not playing for many years and are unsure if the commitment is there. Once you are sure your into playing/practicing daily (as I did after not playing for 20+ years), then save and buy a better guitar. I have done so and now use this for learning how to do set ups at home, string changes, lowing or raising the action, and great if you aren’t familiar with the inner workings of the electric guitar. Highly recommended to parents looking for an affordable option for your child, or if your an adult looking for an inexpensive guitar in the Stratocaster style, this one should not disappoint! ... show more

I’ve played guitar for around 15 years and my son (11yr old) has gained an interest in playing. I wanted to find him a decent guitar at an affordable price. I found this guitar and read the reviews on it and thought this might be worth it. I admit I was still skeptical at first because I’ve never played a Donner guitar but when we received the package it was packed very well and nothing was missing. My son opened it up with a smile on his face. I tuned it up for him it was only about of half step out of tune to begin with. I plugged into the amp that came with it and played a little on each pick up selection on both clean and overdrive settings. Honestly, in my opinion, this is a well built guitar. It has a very nice tone good weight to it, the tuners are great. The amp is excellent for a beginner guitarist and sound better than I thought it would. Overall, if you’re looking to buy a beginner guitar I would definitely recommend this bundle to anyone! (adult or child) if I had to pick something to complain about the fretboard was a little dry. Other than that, I will say don’t be afraid to pull the trigger on buying this bundle! ... show more

I was looking for an inexpensive practice guitar that I could use when I travel or go camping etc. I looked at a bunch of them but all the reviews on the other brands were hit and miss, some said they were decent and others reported some serious issues with construction. I kept coming back to Donner because I read so many great reviews on this product. They were not wrong. I was very surprised at the quality of this guitar for the price. Yes the hardware and electronics are on the cheaper side but that can be easily upgraded later. Donner put the quality into the things that really matter. The overall fitment was very good. The neck, fretboard and action were excellent right out of the bag and the finish on this guitar is absolutely beautiful and flawless. I chose the solid black version. The tuners work ok but you will want to upgrade them at some point. And I do have to say the strings it comes with are really not worth messing with, order yourself a decent set of strings when you order the guitar and change them out right away, you will be glad you did. Overall, there is nothing about this guitar that raises any real concerns. If you are looking for a great first guitar, a good practice guitar or even a great base product to serve as a project guitar then this is it. The accessories it comes with are decent and I have to say the little amplifier really surprised me. No, it is not loud or something you would use in a group setting, but it is loud enough for personal jam sessions or practice. And because its battery powered you can literally play anywhere. i purchased this guitar for my birthday! its a beautiful color and the sound is nice. the amp works well! the only issue i had were the sharp frets. a nail file fixed that right up !! the guitar surprisingly stays in tune but you may want to change out the strings. it came with four picks, an extra set of strings, and a gig bag. the bag is good quality. i love this guitar sm like look at the color!! it's gorgeous!!! ... show more

I'm a complete guitar noob and have no education on what makes a "bad" guitar versus a "good" guitar. But that being said, I feel like this is a pretty good guitar and probably the best place for a beginner to start. Excellent value for the money. For under $200 you get everything you need. And the guitar itself is pretty high quality. It does not feel cheap. It feels solid and expensive. My friend were shocked when I told them how inexpensive it was. The amp is decent. I've replaced it with a better one since, but the one it comes with is perfectly fine for beginner use. I restrung it with Ernie Ball Nickel wound strings and it really elevated the overall quality. Buy this if you're a beginner and re string it with some nice strings and you will love it. ... show more
