Before getting to the details of the guitar, I must say that this is a crazy good deal and an easy 5 stars to give for a beginner package. They really put a lot of beginner equipment in with this guitar. I've been playing for about 25 years, and purchased this guitar for my younger brother who wanted to start playing. Before giving it to him, I opened it and played it for a few days before handing it over. Below is what I was able to notice while playing it. 1. Action / Neck: Most importantly, the action wasn't too bad at all. I put a picture of the string height in this review, so please check it out. I didn't tweek the truss rod at all, and the strings sat fairly low right out of the box. I was expecting a much more bowed neck for a guitar at this price point. I measured the neck straightness with a straight edge and it hardly had a bow. 2. Paint: There is a very flat paint on this, which I thought was unique, but I actually like it. The neck slides smoother than a highly lacquered neck. The paint job isn't perfect, but its a $100 beginner guitar. 3. Nut: As expected, it has a plastic nut, but no issues there. 4. Tuners: Tuners seemed fine. They're sturdy and I wound them with a string winder and they turned and held up perfectly fine. 5. Bridge: It looks like there are a few carpentry corrections on mine, but again, no issues with its functionality and what I would expect for a guitar at this price. 6. Accessories: a. Case: The case is not padded, but will work for any beginner. It has a large pocket on the front which is great to have. Everything worked great on the case, it had no rips or tares. b. Tuner: The tuner worked great right out of the bag. I like how small it was and easy to store in the gig bag. c. Spare Strings: I left them in the box, but I'm assuming they're the same that's on the guitar. They appear to be a light string, but I didn't stress them out too much. d. Strap: the strap looks great, no issues at all with it. e. Pick Guard: My pictures do not have the pick guard on them. It comes in the accessories bag, and has adhesive on the back. You will have to put it on yourself, but its pretty simple. All in all, if you're looking to get into playing, I think this is a great option for the price. They really throw in a lot to help you get started. A beginner will easily get a few years out of this guitar. I highly recommend it, and think this is a great value for what you get. I gave it 5 stars.

I have never owned a high-end acoustic guitar, I have always had a basic beginner one. My boys and I play a lot of electric guitar and they have shown an interest in playing acoustic lately. I purchased this to add another so that we can play together without worrying about banging up an expensive one. Costing the same price as my previous guitar, this one sounds 10 times better. The sound is full, resonant, and clear (are those guitar terms?). For a beginner, this kit comes with everything but a stand for your guitar. It even has an optional pick guard but why would you want to ruin that nice, natural finish? The tuner is an excellent addition to this kit. It will work for guitar, bass, violin, and ukulele (it also has a full chromatic setting). If set properly, the tuner displays the string number that it thinks you are tuning to. Once that string is in tune, the backlight turns green instead of blue. It also comes with your basic soft gig bag case. It's enough to carry the guitar, some accessories, and a music book, if you needed to. I was actually going to buy one of these spring capos at the same time as this guitar but, because the kit is so complete, it comes with one, saving me money in my opinion. To top it all off, the kit includes a strap and two strap buttons (installed). My other acoustic only had one button and didn't come with a strap or bag (or tuner or anything). The action on this guitar is a bit high so, for a beginner, it's going to take a bit of work to get your strength up. The nice thing about this, though, is that once you move to electric or a more adjustable acoustic, the new guitar will feel much easier to play. Overall, we are very happy with this guitar. My boys love the cutout so they can play higher on the neck ('cuz that's what acoustics are made for, right?).

It’s not a perfect guitar but it’s great for its price point. A beginner might struggle with the high action and thick steel strings. It does get easier when they’ve been broken in. It helps to tighten the truss rod a tiny bit. Pros: - It has a nice full sound - I like the included clip on tuner Cons: - The high action and thick steel strings are tough on a beginners fingers. - The radius on the pick guard is wrong so it won’t line up properly with the hole on the guitar. - After about 20-30 minutes of playing, I find myself having to re tune the guitar. It’s usually falls flat on strings 6, 5, 4 - The strap makes a loud creaking sound when the leather rubs against the guitar body. - The placement of the strap buttons is awkward. The guitar wants to flip if it hangs away from your body.

Box came just weak enough to be unusable as a return so had to spend extra money on returning the product. Beautiful looking guitar but the bridge separated from the body on day 2. I guess you get what you pay for as they say. ***Update*** Donner made this right. Contacted me and replaced the product which is fantastic! Thank you for listening to your customers!
