I spent months researching which big girl bed I wanted to get my five-year-old. I kept coming back to this one, but some concerns I had made me hesitate. First, I was a bit worried about the ladder. My daughter is not an adept climber. But now that’s it’s here and built, I realize that I was concerned for nothing. She gets up and down just fine. It’s a low loft. The height is perfect. Standing up, I can lean in and kiss my daughter goodnight with no problem and I’m only 5’4.” I also don’t need to worry about her safety if she has to get down in the dark to pee in the middle of the night. My second concern was that the description here on Amazon has the bed listed as “cappuccino/zebra” while the photo shows a white bed. I wanted the white, and the reviews weren’t giving me a solid answer on whether or not I would receive the bed in the description or the one in the photo. I rolled the dice, ordered the “cappuccino/zebra,” and thankfully, a white bed arrived! Hooray! My daughter LOVES this bed, so much that the past few nights, she’s asked to go to sleep at 6PM and actually did, never once coming out of her room. Overall, It took my husband and son about 5 hours to put together. No problems arose. All parts were there. No nicks or damage. Paint job is beautiful. So far, the bed is sturdy and exactly as described. I moved the dresser across the room to make a little fort underneath. We put up Christmas lights and my daughter is in heaven. It’s her new favorite place to hang out. If I had this bed when I was little kid, my parents would’ve had to drag me out from under it. It really is cool and surprisingly spacious. I was able to sit up comfortably underneath. The dresser is small but the drawers are roomy and held the same amount of clothing that her previous did, and it was twice the size on the outside. The desk itself is sturdy but does move too much on its wheels since it’s meant to slide in and out. My husband is going to just anchor it in place, an easy fix. I’m so glad I decided on this bed. I just adore it and wholehearted recommend.

Sure, everyone wants the best furniture in their house constructed of solid wood. Yet, throwing $2-3k for a bedroom set for our toddler was just not possible or really even smart. Plus, with our upcoming need to make room to add a crib in the same room we knew we needed to save as much space as possible. After reading over all the reviews on the Donco kids low loft bed we knew this was the right product for us, even if there was some concern on the holes not lining up properly. The bed arrived in multiple heavy boxes (you'll definitely want some help to get them inside and into the bedroom you're building this in). The instructions provided were clear and easy to understand and the hardware was always connected to each box via highly visible red rape. Oh, if you still have that second person handy I recommend you keep the around to help you build the bed frame portion of the build as it can be tricky to get everything to balance. The dresser and bookself portion of the build are easy enough to put together yourself. All in all, it took two of us about four hours to assemble it all. Every predrilled hole lined up perfectly and we had no missing hardware of any kind. Now, the real plus of this product. We were able to get rid of a dresser, a bookcase, a toy bin, and a daybed and replace it with just this one piece of furniture. I can't believe just how much of a space saver this low lofted bed is. Oh, and our daughter loves it. Note, we have not yet installed the desk portion yet so that's the only thing I cannot yet review. Yet, with how smoothly the rest of the build went and the quality behind it I have no concerns! In the end, this bed set exceeded my expectations and I've recommended it to our friends.

The bed looks exactly how it looks in the picture. The bed came in four boxes, one for the bed, one for the desk, one for the bookcase and one for the dresser. I liked that they were separate because it made assembly easier. The bed is also pretty sturdy, it’s not a cheap feeling bed. Assembly was pretty simple once you figure out what pieces are which. One thing that I did not like was the fact that the pieces were not labeled (I took a marker and marked the pieces myself on the bottom of the pieces, which helped greatly) not coming with the pieces labeled was disappointing. I also didn’t like the fact that you can almost see every connection point which is held together by a screw, so there is a lot of the backs of silver screws showing. THose are my only two complaints and had the pieces came labeled and if the bed came with some white circular stickers to cover all the screw insertions I would’ve given a perfect five. But it is perfect for my 7 year old and great value.

I did a lot of research before deciding which loft bed to buy for my 5 year old. After seeing customer photos of the finished bed and reading endless reviews, I decided on this bed. It arrived within the timeframe originally stated. Once you get the hang of putting it together it goes faster as you do each area. Overall, it’s sturdy, I feel safe having my daughter sleep in it, the storage is great, and it looks adorable. Definitely great for smaller rooms! A few things we noticed that I’m not “thrilled with” but can live with - the top drawer on the dresser sometimes gives issues when pushing it back in. The wooden pieces for the mattress to lay on come off of the ribbon easily, resulting in the wooden PCs being able to move out of their place, but only an issue if you lift the mattress up. It did come with a scratch here or there. These are all things I can l live with because for the price, I think it’s a great product over all!
