  • Worked as Designed
It worked on my 02 Durango. Had to break off some manufacturing tabs but the install went smooth as long as you can match up the wires so you don't wire it incorrectly.

  • 2 problems fixed with this
Blower was only working on high, engine would also slowly over heat with a/c on. Diagnosis showed electric fan not turning on. After test multiple possibilities i found no other problems. Put the new resistor in and now my blower works on all stages and my electric fan turns on like it should now with a/c on. 01 dodge dakota. Worth the money and great quality. • Worked perfectly
This fit my 2006 Durango SLT, dual air, no climate control, exactly. The fan worked only on the two highest settings, so I knew instantly the problem was the resistor pack. I could see no difference between the Dorman pack and the original. The original plug/harness was intact, so there was no need to use the Dorman supplied plug/harness. Removal and installation is about 15 minutes. Under the glove box, remove the 2 screws and resistor pack cover, then remove the 2 screws holding the resistor pack and remove the resistor pack. Push the slide/snap on the plug to get the original resistor pack off the plug. Install the new resistor pack with its two screws, and then slide the plug on and reinstall the cover. You might want to sit on a cushion or small bucket or stool outside the passenger door to do this. Simple job, just a little back twisting required. ... show more

  • great replacement part
good fit for my 2003 durango. i wish the wires were different colors, but it works as advertised. if your old one blew, you need to find the cause before you replace it, because if your blower motor itself is fried, this blower motor resistor will not help. the most common cause of a blown resistor is a seized or shorted blower motor. i like the fact it comes with the wiring harness aswell, because when the resistor blows, its because of an overheat. that normaly melts the harness too. ... show more

  • I had an EPIPHANY how this part may be failing. It took me long enough.
I DO like this kit. BUT, I've replaced this about 6 times over the life of the vehicle. (And, the blower motor once.) It's a common problem. So much so, that I have a coil of wire under the dash from the previous fixes to make the connector easier to reach and replace. But, this last time I had a revelation; the DORMAN connector bar through the connector was really loose on the new one. When screwing it in first and then plugging the connector in the pins slid back and had poor contact. This made me think... Has the same thing been happening in the past? Despite being burnt I noticed the pins were really short on the inside of the connector on the old board - I put a heat gun on it and shoved the connector bar back through to presumably the original depth. The old resistor board worked again. Granted, since it was burnt and melted around a couple pins; I just used the new board. HOWEVER, I plugged the new board into the connector FIRST. Pushing the pins all the way through to make sure they were seated and then screwed the whole connected assembly in. I do wonder if the heat has been loosening the pins in the plastic housing and vibration moves them back over time until the connection is poor - possibly causing the pins to have a poor connection and overheat more from the resistance? I was tempted to secure it a little better; but, given how hot it gets I was afraid to put glue on it. If I have an issue I'll drill holes through the mount plate on both sides of the connector and secure the board tight to the connector with a couple zip ties. ... show more

  • Does not fit 2008 Jeep Commander Sport
This blower resistor does not fit the 2008 Jeep Commander Sport as advertised in the "product Description" section of this product. It specifically says " [Jeep Commander: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010] ". This vehicle runs on a 4 pin resistor, not 5. I went to the local auto parts store and they had it in stock for $16.95. That said, the new part fit perfect and took 10 minutes to change, the glove box is a bit of a pain but not awful. All you need it a Torx #20. Two screws and your off to a quiet blower. * Check your plug on your Jeep, many of them burn the contacts in the plug, my new part did not come with a new pigtail however mine was fine. ... show more
