  • Worked as Designed
It worked on my 02 Durango. Had to break off some manufacturing tabs but the install went smooth as long as you can match up the wires so you don't wire it incorrectly.

  • 2 problems fixed with this
Blower was only working on high, engine would also slowly over heat with a/c on. Diagnosis showed electric fan not turning on. After test multiple possibilities i found no other problems. Put the new resistor in and now my blower works on all stages and my electric fan turns on like it should now with a/c on. 01 dodge dakota. Worth the money and great quality. • I had an EPIPHANY how this part may be failing. It took me long enough.
I DO like this kit. BUT, I've replaced this about 6 times over the life of the vehicle. (And, the blower motor once.) It's a common problem. So much so, that I have a coil of wire under the dash from the previous fixes to make the connector easier to reach and replace. But, this last time I had a revelation; the DORMAN connector bar through the connector was really loose on the new one. When screwing it in first and then plugging the connector in the pins slid back and had poor contact. This made me think... Has the same thing been happening in the past? Despite being burnt I noticed the pins were really short on the inside of the connector on the old board - I put a heat gun on it and shoved the connector bar back through to presumably the original depth. The old resistor board worked again. Granted, since it was burnt and melted around a couple pins; I just used the new board. HOWEVER, I plugged the new board into the connector FIRST. Pushing the pins all the way through to make sure they were seated and then screwed the whole connected assembly in. I do wonder if the heat has been loosening the pins in the plastic housing and vibration moves them back over time until the connection is poor - possibly causing the pins to have a poor connection and overheat more from the resistance? I was tempted to secure it a little better; but, given how hot it gets I was afraid to put glue on it. If I have an issue I'll drill holes through the mount plate on both sides of the connector and secure the board tight to the connector with a couple zip ties. ... show more

  • Worked perfectly
This fit my 2006 Durango SLT, dual air, no climate control, exactly. The fan worked only on the two highest settings, so I knew instantly the problem was the resistor pack. I could see no difference between the Dorman pack and the original. The original plug/harness was intact, so there was no need to use the Dorman supplied plug/harness. Removal and installation is about 15 minutes. Under the glove box, remove the 2 screws and resistor pack cover, then remove the 2 screws holding the resistor pack and remove the resistor pack. Push the slide/snap on the plug to get the original resistor pack off the plug. Install the new resistor pack with its two screws, and then slide the plug on and reinstall the cover. You might want to sit on a cushion or small bucket or stool outside the passenger door to do this. Simple job, just a little back twisting required. ... show more

  • Excellent warranty service for Dorman parts purchased thru Amazon
It's very rare that I'd write a positive review for a part that failed me. However, Dorman deserves a special mention for the positive experience they gave me in the handling of my warranty replacement. I purchased my blower motor resistor over 2 years ago and it carries a lifetime warranty. When I called Dorman for a replacement, they gave me a phone number for RPS, the company that handles warranty fulfilled for all their parts purchased thru Amazon. RPS' customer service rep was uncommonly nice and very pleasant to deal with. She took all my info, including screenshot of my purchase info. The the replacement part was shipped in the two days. That's fast! Big ups to Dorman, and RPS, for standing behind their products in a fast and efficient manor. ... show more

  • Poor quality
Installed and worked fine for pretty close to a whole month. Now a/c only works on full blast.

  • Good value; easy to install
If you own a Dodge, you know you have to replace these constantly. Especially if you try to turn the fan up higher than 2. The blower motor is just too big for the resistor Dodge installed in the Dakotas. And I'm told Durangos are the same. I always try to have a spare 1 of these on hand. Amazon had the best price I found and shipped quickly when I needed 1 fast and didn't have that 1 back up. I've only had to replace the pigtail once though. And I should mention I am a woman. So if any woman thinks she can't replace this...yes you can. Easy to install. Hardest part is getting up under the dash, but it still only takes me about 10 minutes at the most. I highly recommend you DO NOT turn the fan on higher than 2. It still puts out a lot of heat in the winter and a decent amount of air in the summer. And you won't be so likely to burn the resistor up. Update 11/7/21: In response to the "don't be a dummy" review, check out Dodge forum. I've changed my blower motor twice now. The problem is the motor is too big for the resistor and if you turn it up beyond 3 it burns it. Check the plug next time you change it and you can see where it's burning. I agree with Dodge Forum; the blower motor has too much power at 4 or 5 and burns these out. And people who read reviews are looking for others experiences. Not insults! ... show more
