  • This collar is great!
Size: 1 Dog System - ARC
My lab grew so quickly, I was almost unable to control her cause she thought she was little! My recommendation of her trainer, I bought this exact Dogtra ARCcollar. It’s easy to use and both vibrates or shocks. There are 127 levels of stimulation so that it can be as much or as little as is needed.

  • Surprisingly Effective
Size: 1 Dog System - ARC
Just enough power for my stubborn bernedoodle. We are using this to help with recall and he has been very responsive to the lowest settings so far.

  • The best two dog e-collars on the market, period!
Size: 2 Dogs System - ARC&RX
These are great collars and work perfect for two dogs. I will first explain why I don't like all the other collars I have purchased, and then why I love the Dogtra ARC so much. First with the negatives of other collars. I have been through a many cheaper collars over the last few years. My dogs play hard and wear them a lot in all weather. Everyone I have bought failed working in a few months. The other collars are not easy to use on two dogs. When you must go through menus to select which dog you want to control, it’s not proper for training. I found myself either correcting the wrong dog or correcting them too late. None of the other models I used worked well for two dogs. The range on other models is week. Some say 750 - 1000 yards but I never saw it. I would have issues with range at just a few hundred yards. Finally, the other collars I only used for sound and vibrate because I didn't trust the shock. I always shock myself to test the strength before correcting the dogs. The cheaper collars seem to feel like electrocution verses a simulation. The dogs did not react well to it. Maybe the power is cleaner on the Dogtra. On to the Dogtra and why I love it. Basically, the opposite of everything I said above about inferior products. First and foremost, these work amazingly for two dogs. If you have two dogs just buy this set and forget about it. The fact that both dogs have separate buttons for the vibrate and shock is so smart. There are no menus to go through or forgetting what dog is currently selected. You can correct either dog with vibrate or shock instantly. Every manufacturer should copy this design. I have not had these long enough to judge how they will hold up, but just based on the design and build I have no doubt these will last few years. The quality is above anything else I have seen. The ergonomics and shape are the best as well. Even on my 26 and 28 pound corgis they fit great and blend into their necks. What a great design! The range on these it outstanding. They easily work to .75 miles or beyond. Finally, on to the stimulation or shock. I used it on myself for testing and the shock has a different feel from all the other collars out there. Both my dogs respond to only the #10 setting which is very low. I honestly can barely feel it. It seems to be a clean power the dogs respond to without frightening them. I highly recommend these collars. Spend the big money once and be done with it. ... show more

  • Dial for changing power is cumbersome
Size: 1 Dog System - ARC HF
All features seem to work as expected but one. I charge the collar every night because my dog is still in training and we leave it on him all day. The hand control is only turned on during training sessions and walks so it doesn’t need charged but maybe once a week. The knob on top to adjust the strength of the electrical current is not easy to adjust precisely. When training a dog, the intensity has to be adjusted depending on how distracted or reactive the dog is by something. When I have to turn it up while also paying attention to the situation, holding the leash of a very excited dog and creating distance from the trigger, I can’t easily and precisely make a 1, 2, 3 or more number increase. There is no tactile click to be able feel how many numbers you are adjusting; you have to look at the number on the screen. Some e-collar controls have a button that allows you to quickly (without looking) jump up the power 1 or 2 (or whatever you set it to be) numbers without even looking. Even when not in a situation with a trigger exciting my dog, I find it cumbersome to try to adjust the power back down a notch or two because it easily passes the number I’m aiming for and I have to go back and forth a a few times to finally get it on the exact working number I need. ... show more

  • great easy to use ecollar
Size: 1 Dog System - ARC
This collar works great. I've used this for about a week now, mostly short range and always within visual LOS. I introduced it with a professional trainer I've been working with. The average dog she's trained responds to "60" out of 127 but it's very dependent on fur type, thickness, and the dog's hardheadedness. My dog responds to 75 because she's stubborn. Once you have a dog responding it makes training a breeze. If they do something you can correct them near instantly and the dog isn't confused about what you are correcting it for like if you yelled from across the room or had to run over and yank on it's pinch collar. Leave it in nick and dial it up just enough to get a response for most dogs. You're not trying to actually introduce pain, just to get their attention enough to correct the behavior (in non-aggressive dogs) My dog LIVES for tennis balls. Neigh impossible to train "leave it" via regular methods. Using this collar it took 3 corrections and now she knows leave it and I was able to apply leave it to tennis balls, people, other dogs, ect without any additional corrections. I also accidentally left it on all night once and it still had plenty of battery power in the morning. I was warned not to leave it on except when using it because the prongs can irritate the skin and if you are training with it for a prolonged period (or say hiking) make sure to rotate the collar periodically so the prongs don't rub on the same spot and irritate it. It only ships with short prongs too. if your dog has extra thick fur you may need to contact the manuf and get longer prongs. The standard ones worked fine on my gshep. ... show more
