Most Importantly: This is not a product for the Novice dog trainer, as in the wrong hands could truly physically and mentally harm the animal. But in the hands of a knowledgeable trainer, it is priceless, but any person using this product must take either new YouTube or Repeat YouTube Classes on the Prudent Use of this style of training tool. This tool holds a charge well, and because a seasoned trainer will use it very little to Correct, but very often to "Cue" the daily use of the recharger is relative according to the use. I can go up to 3-4 days between charges for my GSD who has been started on a very low level to cue for obedience responses and thus has great understanding of the different training cues, which can mirror the whistle ticks for herding dogs as the quick bump option is trained, but then I have been using such a tool for 60-years. The frequency of charging is relative to the amount of daily training, whether there is a lot of far away cueing, the size of the dog, and the sensitivity of the dog to the stimulus, which can fluctuate according to coat, size, sensitivity the dog feels, but due to the parameter of low to high stimulus, any dog can be successfully trained with this tool in a humane way. It is able to be used in any weather, for water retrievers', for "go-to-ground" types, however, only one caveat that I have experienced is that it is not a tool for Sight Hounds as they are hypersensitive, but there again it depends on the breed and the individual. I give this product high praise, but I must impress that this is not a tool for Novice, unless that novice is in a training program where the trainer can provide hands-on training and direction. When properly used, this is the finest training tool available for humane training and solid pet to human understanding. ... show more

Giant Schnauzer. hard headed, but gets it now. Product overall works great. however. 'hands free' is not hands free. You have to wear the bulky main controller, and the 'bracelet' on the arm/hand. NOT convenient inside the hand, in my opinion. We use our hands all day. the 'bracelet' is made of elastic band. frayed in a week, looks pretty rough. Just haven't had time to create a replacement, maybe paracord or something. Definitely not this. I still use that item most, as in some cases you really need the element of surprise, INSTANT discipline, harsh "NO!" and the zap all at the same time. Associates the No with the Zap. it works. But. that big bulky hand unit hanging on my neck all day is EXTREMELY annoying. I wish for smaller, streamlined, version, less noticeable, less weight. Overall, it has been REALLY successful, would buy another, if improved design. After 2 months dog doesn't wear it too often, she's learned the verbal and hand signals, and significantly improved. Well made and predictable discharge with huge range of settings. Really liking the hands-free remote. I walk two dogs on leash at the same time. Only one is in need of the additional command motivation offered by a training collar. Accessing the handheld transmitter in a timely manner is almost impossible when both hands are holding leashes. I wear the hands-free remote on the wrist holding my problem child's leash. Very easy to use my less busy hand to reach across and depress the remote button. Timeliness is key when it comes to using a device like a training collar. This set-up has allowed me to make greater progress with training in 3 weeks than I was able to accomplish in 3 months with the less expensive, no hands-free collar set up that I was previously using. The end result is quicker correlation of command and enforcement when needed; therefor fewer stimulations for my pooch. Highly recommended. ... show more

This collar is amazing. I was worried bc my dog is right at 15# (the minimum weight recommendation), but I liked the hands-free option. In case you’re looking for the same info I was looking for, this works fine for small dogs over 15#. Mine is a chihuahua-shiba inu mix (“small” but not “extra small” or “toy breed”). I can only use shock settings below 20 — 10 works very well, but my dog is pretty chill naturally. The hands-free feature is amazing. I’m always doing a million things, so this is really helpful. I bought a cheap collar before this, but the action was so delayed that it ended up confusing her more than anything else. My only complaint is that the vibrate feature is too weak to do anything useful. My dog doesn’t even notice it, and she’s pretty small. Would love if I could use vibrate exclusively, but it’s just not an option with this collar. 7/1/19 - Update - I lost the handsfree strap and the collar is still awesome, but it’s a lot more cumbersome when it’s not handsfree :/ Also, I just want to reiterate: the vibrate function is garbage. DO NOT purchase if you're looking to utilize the vibrate as an effective alternative. My dog is VERY SMALL, she does not react at all. I’ve tried it on myself and it’s hardly noticeable. ... show more
