I don't usually write reviews on dog bed, but this one has been a game changer. It's a bit pricer than I have spent on my chiweenie in the past, but the quality absolutely justifies the cost. When I touched the cover of this bed, I was jealous before even giving it to my dog, lol! (I'd love a pillow or blanket of this material!) -Removable Cover -Two Foam Sections -The foam is lined with waterproof material -Leather handle is study -Bed holds & maintains shape without it being too firm. -Colors perfectly match my living room! My dog usually digs at his bed for adjustments, but this one he's learned he doesn't need to (and can't) for comfort. Its lightweight enough for him to push it around the house if he wants to migrate and the material is thick & sturdy enough that he isn't tearing into it when he moves.

I think by just looking at the attached photos of my dog on his new bed probably tells you everything you might want to know about this giant dog bed. This bed is very nicely made, with good supportive foam inside, that is removable for washing. It has a soft plush velvet cover and sturdy and dense side foam bolsters that provide amazing support all the way around the 3 sides of this dog bed. The cover is well made, with solid stitching and large zippers, that gives me comfort that it should wash well for years to come. This bed is huge, so make sure you have measured the area where it might go before ordering it, as it is much much much bigger then you think it is. My dog loves it, he has since gone around the house and collected some of his toys to come and live on this bed with him. What I love about this bed is the ample amount of room for both him and all the toys he might want to have with him when he sleeps. If you are buying a dog bed, you might as well get one your dog actually wants to sleep on. I love this huge dog bed, it washes beautifully, you can remove all the foam inserts for washing and my dog loves it, that is the most important point of all.

It needs to be assembled, with the bottom foam piece inserted into one zippered pocket, and the bolster piece inserted into a separate zippered pocket. It is cute; looking like a real couch. More importantly, our dog likes it! The small bed is big enough for our 14-pound teen pup, and it is available in a variety of larger sizes, for larger dogs. The bolster wraps a little bit around the front, which creates a bit more of a cozy feel. It is nicely padded, yet not too heavy, and this one is easy to move with a centered front handle. It doesn't feel like the foam will fail quickly; it feels like a well-made human sofa cushion. The sofa arms are also very firm, yet soft and the pup especially loves to lay his head in either of the front corners. I did not review the chew-proof-ness because our pup hasn't attempted that, but frankly there are few things that I would rate as truly chew proof, if a dog was so determined. However, it is slightly chew resistant.

A couple of the hardest things about assembling dog beds is that 1) the instructions are non-existent and 2) add to that the fact that it's hard to stuff a huge square of poof into a teensy tiny cover .... This dog bed was totally not like that. First, there were instructions. Good instructions. Then it turned out the foam inserts (the large rectangular pad and the bolsters that go around the edge) were sewn into thin protective sleeves, so that made them slip more easily into the covers. The bed cover was contructed with two separate zippers: one for the rectangular pad and one for the bolster so that made it MUCH MUCH easier to pack the foam into the bed and get it all zipped up. I've turned myself into a pretzel trying to assemble some cheap dog beds so I really appreciated that. There is even a handle on the front end that makes it much easier to haul the bed around. The XXL size was a bit too big for the space where I had wanted it, but nonetheless, my dog really likes the bed. And I'll admit, it's quite comfy. I can fit diagonally on the bed, so if ever I need to sleep on the floor ...

I was BLOWN AWAY when I saw how big this bed is! It dwarfed my older dog bed/car seat that I had been using for my 55lb lab. This bed can easily accomodate a great dane, afghan, wolf hound, or a family of smaller dogs! (I included a picture with my shi-tzu sitting on the liner, because I didn't put it together yet. Forgive the mess, but I wanted to show it in comparison to the other bed that my lab currently sleeps in (which is big enough for him, but nowhere near as big as this one.) The filling feels much like a memory foam mattress that you would buy for your own bed. The outer covering is one piece. It is extremely soft and luxurious. I am hoping the navy blue can do a good job of hiding black hairs, because my doggo sheds constantly and even when I wash the bed we have every week, it looks dingy after a couple of days. I cannot rate it on "chew proof" because thankfully, he doesn't do that! I'd love to find out though, because I foster other dogs from time to time and chew proof is highly desireable with nervous dogs who are trying to settle into a new home. I can honestly say, I don't think you will find a better bed for this price anywhere.
