I bought this collar for my 10 pound bichon frise puppy, and it's been quite helpful as a training tool. The remote has a decent range and I can use it from anywhere in the house. This collar has three modes, beep, buzz/vibrate and electric shock. The remote can also be used with up to 4 collars. Both the collars and the remote are easy to use and just need to be charged. I have two dogs and one of them barks at everything, I was amazed that this collar actually stopped him from barking and when I put the collar on him he became much colder and less inclined to bark. My other dog gets scared when he hears the "beep". Also, it has great battery life, I've had it for two weeks and only charged it once.
