I'm a professional groomer who's just starting out in terms of money and not being able to afford the higher quality gear yet, and the professional set is great for just that! Everything in this kit is surprisingly durable and can take accidental drops perfectly fine. The comb can definitely pull out and break down some hefty knots and mats without the teeth bending at all, it's pretty strong! Despite not being top-of-the-line quality shears, they come decently sharp and don't dull very quick at all; HOWEVER, after having them professionally sharpened after a few months of use, they DEFINITELY have a higher quality feel to them, of course, and feel "more professional", which further exemplifies how getting these are such a good deal if you treat them well! They aren't too loud when cutting either which I love, I know some shears that are way too loud when cutting. They're all pretty comfortable in my fingers too, and while my fingers are quite slim and slide through the holes easily, just getting those cheap and simple hole grips solve that issue perfectly. The curves did loosen a little quickly at first when I purchased these, maybe after about a few weeks, but that isn't a big deal to me though, as you can tighten it back up easily anyway, and fortunately it hasn't loosened at all since. Plus, I feel it's a little normal for them to loosen over time with consistent use anyway. The thinners are my FAVORITE and are such a great in between of nicely blending but also taking off a decent amount like chunkers. I wouldn't have believed these scissors could hold up and be as good as they are. I have 4 large dogs that I groom myself. Standard Poodles and doodles. These are great, they have held the sharpness and durability and I've been very impressed with this set. Go for it; this is a great buy.

This set works so well! So I have a small dog, poodle and fox terrier mix. Her hair is a mix of curly and straight and always gets so long. I used to struggle using cheaper scissors when trying to give her a trim and now it's a breeze to cut her hair. Makes haircuts faster which is great because she hates them. They have the guards on the end but are still sharp to cut through her hair( I know some with the guards don't but these do!) ... show more

This is a great grooming set and easy to use. The only thing I would change is to include a number 5 blade, which is what the groomer my dog has been going to is used to. I use the three which is slightly shorter but still works. If you're new to grooming as I am, best to watch grooming online via Youtube for your breed of dog and then to be realistic accepting your efforts will not be perfect the first several times you use this.
