  • the vibration feature is GENIUS!! perfect for my DEAF dog!!
Color: Black 1 Pack(TC01)
we trained my old boy on one of these types of collars when he was just a pup. he's fifteen now, and his age is catching up to him, and he's almost completely deaf. the original collar he grew up with only had the beep and shock feature. he learned to come when he heard the beep or else he'd get a little zap! worked wonderfully. there were few occasions where he was particularly petulant and needed to be shocked, so it was overall a relatively painless experience for him... up until now. he couldn't hear the beep anymore. so, the only option was to shock him, which seemed needlessly cruel. and without the beep, without that warning, he didn't understand why he was getting zapped. instead of coming as he was taught to do, he instead started running away from me. it broke my heart. the only option was to abandon the collar and rob him of his freedom, only allowing him outside on a tie-out where he had limited space to explore. this, too, was heartbreaking. i didn't like this solution, so i started poking around for other options. i came across this collar, saw that it had a vibration feature (something i had never seen before), and immediately ordered it. i crossed my fingers that this would give my lil' old man his freedom back! and it DID! the moment he feels the vibration he comes trotting along, just like he once did when he heard the beep! it is perhaps even more effective than the beep, as i haven't had to shock him once since introducing this collar! i am so happy that he can now roam to his heart's delight, but i have a way to summon him back so he doesn't stray too far off of the property! and now he can explore alongside his sisters again instead of being relegated to a tie-out and only watching their escapades from afar. the construction of the remote and collar is top notch! i love the digital display on the remote, the size of it, and the fact that it can be turned on and off to preserve battery life (a feature that the former remote we used did not have). the module for the collar is well built with excellent attention to detail. i appreciate the rubber cover for the charging port so it is truly waterproof. and on that note, it's wonderful that both the remote and collar can be charged and do not require batteries! it's so intuitive and user-friendly! i could not be more pleased! i highly recommend this!! included is a picture of the sweet old man himself. he approves, too!! ... show more

  • Excellent training collar. Good range. Long battery life
This is an excellent training collar. It provides a beep, vibration or shock, depending on which button you press. Your first choice should always be the beep and you should train your dog to come with just one press of that button. My dog comes flying to me when I press it, which is exactly what I want. I very rarely have to use the other two buttons. Spend time on training and give rewards when the dog responds correctly- that's the secret. The vibration button is what you want when the dog is distracted by other dogs, people, squirrels, horses, whatever. Dogs zone you out when you call them if they are distracted. They zone out the beep too. The vibration breaks through that and startles the dog, so they know (with proper training) to come to you. The last function is the shock. Use this sparingly or never. Never use it as a punishment, or the dog will learn to run away instead of coming to you. You can adjust the shock level from 0 to 100%, Most dogs begin responding at a level of 4-8, depending on the dog. I set mine at 25, which I feel is very high. If the dog is not responding at that high a setting, you may have to adjust the collar fit or the tips. I suggest you never, ever use 100% or anything close to that because an intensely strong shock will be delivered, making the animal scream in pain. Not ideal. The best feature of this product is that the transmitter display shows the battery level of the transmitter, as well as the collar. The transmitter battery lasts an extremely long time, measured in weeks. The receiver, which is always on and can not be shut off, lasts about a week or more. It is a good idea to charge both (using an ordinary USB cable, provided) when the battery level drops to 50%. You do not want the battery to go flat. If you have multiple receivers, then when you switch the transmitter to work with that receiver, it shows the battery level for that one. Excellent! I have two dogs, and switching from one to another requires just a tap of the channel button. Again, excellent. TIP: Don't hold the channel button down or nothing will happen. You have to tap it. The only fault I would say there is with the design is that the shock button, which you want to use the least, is the most prominent button on the transmitter. It's right in the center, it's the largest one and it's bright orange. The other two are at the bottom. The button you want to use the most (beep) is at the very bottom. This placement wrongly encourages you to shock your dog instead of using the beep button. That, unfortunately, is in an inconvenient location. Just be aware of this. Other than this, the transmitter and receiver perform well. Range is good, and perhaps better than they advertise. The devices are durable. The collar is made of heavy duty webbing with a strong plastic snap which will last a long time. The units seem to tolerate ordinary rain without problems, as well as splashing in puddles. But I take off the dog's collar when he goes swimming. That's probably a good idea! ... show more
