They work great! We have a very rambunctious GSD who is 11 weeks old. I was hesitant to use these, but they have worked well in these ways: 1 - When we need to leave for a couple hours, these help with his separation anxiety. He whines and barks for about a minute, and then he's calm the rest of the time. We have been working on crate training, and I think these treats have helped him learn that his crate is his calm place. 2 - When he has a hard time settling for bed, these treats are great. He calms and falls alseel in his crate after about 10 min. 3 - When I'm trying to train him and he's super energetic, I give him 1/2 of one of these. It calms him just enough to focus on what I'm trying to teach him. BE CAREFUL not to go overboard with these. For my 21 lb pup, I won't give more than 2 total in a day. I gave him 3 one day (throughout the day - not all at once), and he was pooping a lot more than usual. It wasn't diarrhea, but frequent poops do make potty training a bit more challenging. ... show more

These treats work very well for my 45lbs German shepherd mix puppy!! They don’t sedate him, he does retain his personality and ability to react/respond. What they do offer is a minimized response to stimulus, and quicker transition into calm post-stimulus. We give him a 2-treat dose, and it takes approximately 1-1.5hrs to kick in. We use them about once a week; at this frequency he is not building a tolerance to them, they are still very effective! Scenarios they have been used for: when we are having a party with many people at our house, when company is coming over who are not “dog people”, if he is going to be in his crate for >5 hours during the day and we want to minimize his anxiety, long car rides, or when he’s staying with other people. We liked these treats so much we have repurchased and given as gifts to people who have high energy dogs! We always get good feedback! Highly recommend! ... show more

I have a 15 lb Mini Cattle Dog, who is very nervous around other people. Since I show her, I needed something to take the edge off her nerves. Unfortunately, this did not help her much, even when I upped the recommended dosage. I did give it to another dog (who is not as nervous), and it seemed to help her. I bought these for my little rescue puppy. I have had 4 dogs and this little crazy pup never sleeps not even during the night. She is always amp'd up and it doesn't matter how much she plays or run. I was at my wits end with her. These are like crack to her She will hear the jar open and come flying like a bat out of Hell. So I am assuming the taste is awesome (it does smell like Willie Nelson or Cheech & Chong in a tub). They definitely calm her down. I don't know if these truly work as advertised. I followed the directions and administered the dosage to my dogs. I have 3 10 lb. Chihuahuas and a 20lb terrier dog. The initial dosage did not work. But when I doubled the dosage, it worked. My dogs remained alert, calm, and responsive. The weight range for dosing is crazy huge. For example, give 1 chewable for a pet weighing 1lb to 25lbs! Pros: I have been giving my 5 1/2-year-old German Shepherd these calming treats for 4 months. They definitely take the edge off and allow her to focus and listen to commands. I have seen a lot of improvement in her level of aggression as well. Cons: I started out giving her the recommended dose, but didn't see any improvement the first month, so I slowly increased the dosage. I give her 3 chews 3 times a day, so they don't last very long in her system, but she a totally different dog, very pleasant around other dogs and people now. It would be nice if they would sell them in bigger packaging with more chews. ... show more
