I was helping my father look for a tonneau cover for his 2017 Ford F-150 and after checking out a website that sells all of the name brand options, decided to look on Amazon. We found this cover and it had similar specs to the Gator Tailback tonneau ($840) that we had picked out. The Gator has a slightly higher weight rating. With the DNA Motoring (they need a better name) at almost half the price we were skeptical at first but we bought it anyway. When it arrived the first thing we noticed was its weight. It has heft but not so much that its unmanageable. That heft translated into a very solid/sturdy construction. It installs very easily with no extra side rails. It clamps down really well and is very secure. It looks great and fits perfectly on the truck. The first thing we did was took it to a car wash to test how well it keeps water out. After we opened the tailgate we were surprised to see only a few drops had made it through! The car wash we went through is really good and sprays as ton of water in every direction. Oh and my father actually stood on the cover like they did in the picture and it handled his weight no problem (I still don't recommend doing it though). Overall we are very happy that we took a chance with this cover and it paid off. If you are on the fence and are nervous to try this cover, don't be. It's a great cover at an incredible price. Just put it on my truck yesterday. I have an F-150 with an 8 ft bed. It wasn’t too hard to install, just had to fiddle with the hardware a bit. It looks really good on the bed, it’s just a tad bit short! If it was like an inch or two longer it would be perfect. Also, the clamps in the back are kind of annoying. Overall, not too hard to install and looks very nice. Hopefully it functions well for me.

At first glance it looked great out of the box, but then.... First the lock down brackets are flimsy at best and I was one of the unlucky ones that the threads on the hold down brackets for middle and rear were too big for the hold down rod. Second, I checked and rechecked and checked again before buying and it barely covered a 1/4" on the front wall and tailgate. Last, the actual plastic bracket doesn't take into account for the cap on the bed wall, it sticks down past the metal lip of the bed wall about an 1/8 to 3/16", this means the plastic clamp can only clamp onto an 1/8 to 3/16", even if the treads worked it would pop off with the slightest bump. I'm not the only one with the treads problem or if fitting correctly, if it is advertised to fit all 2016-2021 F150's then it should fit. Also, the instructions are totally useless, I take into account some of the wording as being made in a non-English speaking country but you would think they could find someone to translate it correctly. One more thing, the instructions do say you may have to put seam tape on top of the front wall due to some beds being slightly lower than the walls, you are also advised to put seam tape down both side walls and across the bed by the tailgate to help seal the back end, otherwise a whistling sound would be heard from the tailgate while in motion. Seriously, that's what it said! My advice, just spend the extra money on a name brand locally and have a pro install it, it's worth it not to have to deal with in. I'm going to do that when I return this thing tomorrow, FOR THE SECOND TIME!
