Description

Aluminum racing radiator is designed to provide maximum cooling efficiency to prevent premature engine failure. Its light-weight, and high-heat transferring aluminum features a tube and fin design that, dramatically increases surface area that enables the heat to dissipate more efficiently. This racing radiator is at least 40% more efficient than stock ones. Most importantly, it has a much higher capacity for coolant than stock ones, which means that your cooling system will be more efficient and will be more resistant to temperature surges in racing applications.

I used this radiator in my 1964 Pontiac Catalina with a 389ci engine. I suspect that it would fit well in other early 60s GM cars as well. With the original radiator I have been battling overheating. I was doing good to run 190 degrees, sometimes higher, which can slowly burn up an engine that's designed to run 180. Now I can't MAKE it run over 180 degrees. It hold 180 at idle, at stoplights, on the highway, on residential streets, at wide open throttle, and putting through town. I am very pleased. I do have an electric fan so that may be helping at low speed and idle. The fitment was great. It dropped right in where the original radiator went, the hoses all lined up. I just put some new 5/16 inch hose nipples in the trans cooler and it was ready to go. It was painted silver when I got it, which I did think was a little strange, maybe to prevent oxidation or something. The paint did make it easier to scuff with a scotch-brite and paint black so it wouldn't be as conspicuous in my otherwise stock engine compartment. ... show more

What can I say but WOW, Im an Idiot who keeps buying this JUNK and then going DUH when it is so NOT OEM. Examples? Sure...Overall width approx. 2" narrower on EACH side, and no OEM holes for radiator base supports. Because of radiator being 4" narrower than designed the dual fan shroud no longer fit correctly and overlap on driverside was the result after computer had to be relocated. Further excitement ensued when I went to swap the cooler line fittings and, yes, wrong size, they didnt FIT!! IMAGINE THAT!! After a great amount of time I managed to route the cooler lines through various adaptors to make it function as it should at least as long as it would take for us to blaze off into the night and be gone. Of course these non oem adaptors began leaking immediately, resulting in low fluid level scenarios and burned up my transmission, into ,fawkungndust! So.... enjoy 😀 ... show more

Although this radiator was nearly twice as thick as the stock one, it was actually extremely easy to install and only required trimming the upper rubber support mounts to accommodate the increased width. All in all it took me about 30 minutes to unbolt the radiator fan and shroud, disconnect the hoses, remove the old radiator, and install this new one. Not only was the installation extremely easy, but the performance over the stock radiator is notable. With the stock radiator my 450hp 355 engine ran at around 215 degrees on a 80 degree day, now with the new radiator it runs at a perfect 190 degrees even when I drive hard. I highly recommend this radiator, and at this price it is well worth it. ... show more

    • This is a painted radiator, not bare aluminum like the pics show.

Ordered an aluminum radiator, pics of the product show bare aluminum. When it arrived it’s all painted silver. Brackets were bent incorrectly, holes didn’t line up, had to modify the brackets to make it fit. Core seems to be good, and doesn’t leak, expected better for the price.

This radiator does not fit a 1965 f85 as claimed. Width is fine. But it's too tall. Over all looks like a good build for the price.

Thankfully it was Expertly Packaged,, Ya Never Know!! Good for me,, Except for one broken wing of the thumb screw drain stem,, (Broken) Not to worry, I planned to (tap) and thread a 3/8 ball valve for draining. The Fit was Perfect! Perfect in every way except for the trimming of 5/8 to 3/4" for the shroud, 1 pass vs 2. Buy it! for the money, and the overall quality, 2 passes that's 100% better than when new. Think my 2004 is now 18 years old and it cooled just fine until the plastic gave up. This thing has NO Stinking Plastic!! ... show more
