I purchased this “direct fit item for my 98’ Toyota Tacoma. I removed my old radiator and left the mounting rails mounted. As I slid the new one in and bolted the top onto the rails I became aware that the dimensions were not the same. This radiator is at least 2 1/2” shorter than the ordinal as well as having a narrow cooling face. In short, not only did I have to modify the mounting rails, but I had to cut sections out of the factory fan shroud to allow for the lower hoses to fit properly because the radiator was shorter. Making this purchase work was work. Hopefully, the smaller cooling area does not cause a problem and will keep the truck cool enough. Pardon the pun, but I feel shorted. ... show more

Original radiator being replaced was about two (2) inches taller than this replacement, we end up cutting 2 inches from the bottom fan shroud to get the protection from the fan blade just how it was design.
