Produced by the Mexican Mint (La Casa de la Moneda de Mexico) since 1991, these 1/10 oz Gold Libertad (Spanish for freedom) coins are offered to you in brilliant uncirculated condition with a certificate of authenticity. The coin contains 99.9% fine gold backed and guaranteed by Banco de Mexico. The obverse features Mexico's coat of arms with a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus devouring a rattlesnake. Also shown are the 10 past versions of the symbol surrounding the current coat of arms. The inscription "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" is also included. The reverse design celebrates Mexican independence and it was based on the 1921 gold centenario. The winged Victoria of Angel of Independence is in front with the volcanos Popocateptl and Iztaccihuatl in the background. The weight and purity is also included. The older Libertad coins show a front-facing angel, the modern version features a three-quarter profile of the angel. A solid addition to your bullion collection.
