You know those people who order a couch or chair thinking "This is a suspiciously low price," only to realize they ordered doll furniture? This is a rip off. Picture shows 12 skeins of DMC embroidery floss for over $8, with tax almost $10.00. I recieved 1 skein. I would NEVER pay 10 bucks for 1 skein of any floss. When I look at the advertisement, it does say DMC 6-strand embroidery cotton floss, but the picture is very deceiving.

These are, in fact, DMC brand, brilliant white, and you get 12 little skeins with your order (some early reviews indicated they did not, but it seems either the seller or Amazon corrected this!). As a newbie to embroidery floss, I didn't realize there were different sizes of these DMC threads and thought this was the thicker cotton thread (which go for around $1.76 at common arts & crafts chains) but it's actually the smaller thread. As I figured out after it arrived, the larger string is twisted and thicker where this is 6 strand (I think it's less thick), not twisted, and divisible. These run for around $0.52 a piece in other places, so the cost on here is a little on the high side even for a 12 pack. However, it is exactly what is described and is convenient if you don't feel like driving to the store or the prime shipping makes it worth it to you. Hope this helps! ... show more

This embroidery thread is silky, six-strand, and is perfect for fine, detailed embroidery work. The 6 strands are about the same weight as other 5-strand DMC I’ve used. Would buy again for large projects.
