I bought this jacket to take to Antarctica, and it proved to be perfect! It packs well and you can squish it pretty small in an airtight bag. It was waterproof from snow and splashing water on the zodiacs. It was warm and cozy with the fuzzy lining in the body. The adjustable velcro on the wrist feature was very convenient to keep snow off your skin and to seal the jacket tight around your gloves. The hood is nice and roomy and protected the sides of my face and ears, plus it was removable if you do not need a hood. My only negative is that I wish it had more pockets. I usually wear a size medium, but I bought it a size up so I could easily layer clothing underneath. So I would say it fits true to size, with the arms being plenty long enough (I have very long arms and I usually have a hard time finding clothing that fits properly). I bought the bright blue one, and the color was beautiful and vibrant as shown in the picture online. This was a great purchase, and the price was great too!     • Fits well, decently warm
5' 3" 130lbs, carried evenly and semi-fit. Ordered a small as that's my usual size. It's a bit loose around the breast for my liking, the fabric is extra at the front as the back is fine. I am small breasted, so larger breasted women wouldn't have an issue. Fits snuggly around the hips with regular jeans so if you reach up or bend over you need to pull the jacket back down, otherwise that's great for keeping wind out. Fully zipped, the neck sits just a tad too high and cuts into my neck. That's far better than the coat from Columbia that got returned. lol Though I do love turtle necks, I may need to keep it slightly unzipped. As others state, the fabric is noisy. It's 100% polyester and to be expected. Pockets are not lined with the faux fur (or fuzzies, if you will). I'm personally not a fan of button/velcro mix but I knew it was there when buying. It'll need some heavy wear before it's not as stiff and there's room for an extra jacket (I usually double layer that jacket with a smaller one, fine for cold but terrible for wind). I am not a fan of coats in the slightest but I haven't bought or worn one for about 10 years. Hopefully this one serves me well for a while. ... show more

    • Great value for hiking
This is such a great value for this coat. I use it for hiking in cold months since it has fleece lining (really nice) - has many zippered pockets - two on the sides for hands, one chest and one arm and one inside! Velcro on cuffs so you can keep cold air out. Hood comes in handy. Only things I wish it had- draw string at bottom to keep cold air out and a bit of fleece to cover the snap around the neck when it’s fully zipped. It can be really cold with that metal snap next to your face. I wear a light scarf around my neck inside the coat that covers it. It’s a stupid little thing but can be annoying.     • Perfect for New England winters!
This jacket was a pleasant surprise! Not only is it pretty (lots of compliments on the blue color!) it keeps me toasty warm. This morning the feel-like temperature was a frigid -2 when I look our dog outside and I stayed comfy and warm. The Velcro closures over the front zipper helped keep out the wind while I slipped and slid across our frozen yard. My phone stayed zipped in one pocket and doggy-bags in another. It seems to be well-designed and sturdy and gets the job done! I purchased the large size so I can comfortably wear a heavy sweater underneath. I liked the look of this coat and it seemed like it was good quality and would be warm. However it was small even when I sized up (a common issue with coats) and I wanted something that I could wear layers underneath. I also thought it felt constricting through the shoulder and arms which is odd because I don't usually have that problem. I ended up returning because of the fit. ... show more
