  • To use solar panels not officially recommended by DJI, and to prevent damage to the MPPT module and the power station, ensure the open-circuit voltage of the solar panel is less than 30 V. The power output of each solar panel should not exceed 200 W, with the total output power of solar panels connected to the entire MPPT module capped at 400 W.
  • While using solar panels with the MPPT module, install the included metal heat dissipation bracket.
  • When used with the DJI Power 500, the max output power of the solar panels connected to the entire adapter module should be exceed 300W.

Description

When a DJI Power-series power station is connected to the DJI Power Solar Panel Adapter Module (MPPT), users can link solar panels through the XT60 interface on the adapter panel for eco-friendly recharging of the DJI Power series. It is recommended to use the DJI Power-series power stations in conjunction with solar panels from the DJI-certified brand Zignes. If using solar panels from other brands, using the MPPT module and a conversion of the solar panel port to the XT60 interface are necessary to enable solar recharging for the DJI Power series. Required accessories are sold separately.

While I wish there was some more detailed specifications on acceptable non-official panels to use, I took a gamble and installed a 210W polycrystalline panel on top of my camper van and it works great. I am not well versed enough in solar panel technology to understand the open circuit voltage and other specs of solar panels, but it charges my Power 1000 no problem and without any overheating. I do wish the Power 1000 had more SDC ports (as I also use the 1kw car charger), but that is not relevant to this review. This definitely does its job. The build duality is nice and seems like it will last a long time with no issues. The size is ok and doesn’t add much weight. If I had more solar panels to plug into it I could test it further but so far so good and I like it. Highly recommend if you want to use more that one solar panel but if you are just using one solar panel you has use the single port from the car charging accessory. ... show more

This MPPT module for the DJI Power 500 and DJI Power 1000 works great. I like have the 3 XT60 ports to work with and using solar to quickly charge up my stations.

The quality build of these are good. It’s too bad they couldn’t have put the MPPT’s in the power 1000 itself that way they could use the solar panels to charge the unit as well as being able to charge batteries with the designated outlet at the same time

    • Come on DJI, you need a $60 adapter for Solar ?
I have power supplies that have a direct input to charge using solar panels. Many will use these power supplies out in the field, sadly they will learn it’s more money for the solar adapter.
