The maximum flight time of the aircraft is measured at a constant flying speed of 21.6 kph in a windless environment at sea level, with camera parameters set to 1080p/30fps, video mode off, and from 100% battery level until 0%. Data is for reference only. Always pay attention to reminders on the goggles screen during your flight. 9. DO NOT connect the charger, connect external devices, or insert/remove any batteries during power accumulation. 10. The 13km transmission distance can only be achieved under the FCC standard when measured without interference in an open outdoor environment. The above data shows the farthest communication range for one-way, non-return flights under each standard. During your flight, pay attention to RTH reminders on the goggles screen. 11. Measured using 1080p/100fps video transmission, tested outdoors in an open interference-free environment. 12. DJI Avata 2 is factory set to automatically perform Return to Home (RTH) if the drone signal is disconnected, and users can change the setting to hover or land before takeoff according to the actual flight scenario. 13. If the 5.8GHz frequency band is not available (such as in Japan), screen sharing to the smartphone via Wi-Fi is not available. To achieve this function, a wired connection is recommended. Before flying, check and confirm local radio and aviation laws and regulations. 14. Tested in an open outdoor environment free of interference. The video transmission distance varies with the operating environment. 15. The power loop feature has a fixed radius and speed, which cannot be altered. The loop radius is set at 5 meters, and the minimum effective height is 1.5 meters.

Bought this drone as back up to my existing collection of drones and is also perfect to stock them up before the ban in the US officially gets passed. Drone itself is amazing, it is easy and fun to fly. Very immersive in terms of experience. Would recommend this to anyone.

I'm not using my Avata 2 like everybody else... I got this drone to quickly inspect my 50 acres of wooded land. It works very well with only one currently noticed drawback. On a nearby 50 acre open park it's no problem except when I fly too low amongst the trees at about an eighth of a mile away and the HD signal to the goggles drops off. My 50 acres is almost ALL trees so the signal can get pretty poor pretty quickly. I can fly above my trees and drop down in amongst the trees all the way down to ground level inspect what I need and zip back out, but the HD signal to the goggles can get kind of weak in the woods. RC and GPS signal is always better than the HD signal. Sadly, the trees seem to eat that signal up. Other than that, it works great. Instead of me hiking for a couple of hours in the woods to check on a few things, this drone can get to each spot in a couple minutes and I can get everything inspected in less than 20 minutes. I can navigate through all the limbs without issue. Bumping into trees at reasonable speeds is not a problem. It will fly around and into tiny spaces in my woods and safely back out. One other point of detail is... (software update for this option please) I wish it had a compass or heading display in the goggles. It's easy to get directionally lost over my woods (can't do dead reckoning without landmarks) but I always know where "HOME" is with the "H" so I'm not completely lost. RTH works great but I've only initiated it at an altitude above the trees. I fly up from the ground through the gaps between the tree limbs before initiating RTH. I'm just using the simple controller. Battery life is very adequate and easily 20 plus minutes of flying time for each battery. Final review - It's super easy to use, and the image quality in the goggles is only an issue as noted above. I'm definitely keeping it. It mostly does what I need it to do, I just wish the signal to the goggles was stronger. Other than that AND the lack of a compass, it is a very seriously awesome drone and worth every penny, for purposes and needs like mine. ... show more

We use the Avata 2 on search and rescue missions where we cannot see through thick vegetation from above with our other drones. The Avata 2 allows us to fly between branches and obstructions with precise control. This allows us to search areas that would be impossible, dangerous, or very difficult to search on foot. Compared to the DJI Neo the Avata 2 has about 5-10 more minutes battery life which gives us extra crucial search time. We have flown the Avata2 in a variety of lighting conditions and the camera quality is great. Wearing the DJI Goggles 3 gives us a large screen view of the area we are searching. We also like that we are able to stream our flight to another device that has DJI Fly on it or online to a server. That way a team mate can see what we are seeing or the Incident Command can get situational awareness by following our flight camera view online.
