Went fishing in Galveston, Texas. The first two reels that I ordered, the breaking mechanism stopped working after a couple of fishing trips. The company replaced one of the reels. I’m still waiting on the second reel. The replacement reel that I used on this trip worked great. I think they fixed the breaking issue. You will not be disappointed. I’ll let you know when I receive my second reel, and write another review on how it works. I would give 5 stars after I evaluate the operation of the other reel that should be on the way. ... show more

I have 6 of these reels (4000) size that I use for salt water bay fishing. They have seen 6 seasons of use. I wash them down with the drag end of spool up and have no issues with the mechanicals. My only complaint is some of the diecast plating is flaking and pitted on some reels, but not others. The aluminum and stainless steel parts look great. I have about 300 days of casting jigs for seatrout, snook, and redfish. I will definitely buy these again. Cast quality with braid is exceptional. ... show more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a fishing reel. After the first time I used it I had a hard time reeling it since it was very stiff. It wasn't like that when I first used it while fishing. I did lubricate the reel with WD40 and then it finally started working for a little while. Also, the reel handle broke off the second time I used it because the entire reel was stiff and could not reel in the line. The inner parts of the reel are plastic and made with a crappy alloy type of metal. Poor product. Do not buy. What a piece of junk. Stick to American Brand Names. ... show more

Original reel lasted 2 weeks then froze up. Requested return/replacement. Lasted 1 week of surf fishing before this froze up. Didn’t bother returning the last two I purchased. Both stopped braking then froze up also. Don’t waste your money, these are not designed for heavy duty surf fishing.
