TREK FX-3 Hydrid bike. Fits fine. This rack is not bad with my old Roswheel velcro attached bag strapped to it. Sandwiches out of my bag for lunch could not be easier. I like the bungie cord which can be attached in 6 spots and seems very good. I can see using this if coming back from a store, mounting the bungee cords with the (small) store bag/package right over my bike bag. I have had 3-4 bike racks on various bikes over the last 15 years. This one may last. Lightweight and sturdy. Unless you mount a boulder on top of it, it is not going to break. I do like that this rack has side supports mounting to the rear frame. My previous rack was WITHOUT the two side supports on and attached only to the bike seat post making it very unstable (weak) and could move side to side. This rack was easy to install - 20 minutes. I followed the video on the Amazon site, not the instructions which in my opinion seems to make things harder than they should be. Tighten the screws/bolts down but i would not put excessive force/tightening - you do not want anything to snap on the mounts. Not that the mounts are cheap - but the design is LIGHTWEIGHT not to mount a 350 engine onto a Ford. I choose NOT to put on the side bars as I do not use a saddle bar at the moment. Those complaining about the side bar not being long enough and the bags hitting the wheel...... the side bar is stiff lightweight alum, and it is pretty obvious the fix is to just bend/angle the stiff alum out a bit from the wheels and it should not be an issue with saddle bags.

I badly needed something to carry water, First Aid supplies, and some tools on my new E-Bike. I could not mount a water bottle holder on the frame. Just no way with the Lithium Battery. This bike rack was somewhat simple to install on the bike. I was careful to use the included rubber shims on the clamps that go on the frame. I did not want to scratch or damage my paint job, and I wanted the rack to stay secure. I was EXTRA careful when I mounted the clamp where my back brake cable runs. The cable literally runs under the bolt of the clamp now(see pic). I paid attention to make sure everything was properly aligned. Please Note: The bag in the photos DID NOT come with the rack. I bought that at a department store. I was pleasantly delighted with the bungie cord, and web tie town. The reflector literally just slides on, and to me, it looked like one good bump, and the reflector would pop out. So....I cut a piece of the rubber shim, and pushed it in behind the reflector, its very sturdy now. This rack is very lightweight.

Obviously, not all bikes are the same so pay attention to where moving parts are on yours. 90 minutes to mount - rear wheel needed to be removed; parts needed to be reversed to prevent overly long screws from interfering with bike operation; extremely difficult to work around gears and cables. Lightweight aluminum so unknown how durable. Will reevaluate after a few weeks.

This rack is well made and I'm overall very happy with it. I have two minor cautions. As the makers are aware they have made the clamp which goes around the seat post large enough to fit about any size. They offer to send extra rubber pads if needed to adapt to smaller diameters. I used all their large pads plus I made two additional pads out of an old tire tube so that I could secure the clamp. Also, the "W" bars which prevent panniers from swinging in toward the wheels have protruding bolt heads which can chafe your panniers. I have covered them with some heavy duty reinforced tape. I will sew covers for these out of leather to permanently solve the problem.

Product seems pretty sturdy. Be sure you have room on the seat post for mounting. i have a 29" bike and the vertical support rods are just barely long enough and still be able to tighten. Install not very difficult, a clamp comes in handy.

I don't usually write reviews but I was compelled to here. This is a very well made product. The small engineering details set this apart. The metal restraints that hold the nuts in place, removing the need for using a pair of grips along with the Allen wrench for example. This has everything I need, rubber pads (and spares) to protect my bike, cargo net etc. Clear instructions Sturdy Total package

I bought this bike rack after having tried Schwinn’s “universal” bike rack, which it turns out is not universal for Schwinn bikes. This bike rack has worked well for the past year and my daughter uses it to transport her backpack to/from school.

This is a very sturdy rack for my bike. Unfortunately, there were a couple of issues I had. Firstly, in an attempt to make a "one size fits all" carrier, the manufacturer sends rubber shims to fill in the gaps around the clamps that connect on the bike forks and under the seat. The instructions stated that if more rubber shims are required for installation, please contact Amazon. I made my own out of an old leather belt and it worked just fine. Secondly, the bag of hardware fasteners was short one damn nut. Of course, it's a 6mm nut and not something I would have laying around in my garage. Unless I lived in China, maybe. So that required a trip to the hardware store for a .70 cent nut. Why wouldn't they just include one extra of the bolts, nuts, washers, and rubber shims? It's a shame because otherwise, this is a nice carrier.
