First off: Despite the photos, THIS IS NOT the MTX 2.0 bag. I thought it was, which is why I bought it. Although the descriptions don't mention anything about it being the original style, I'm kind of glad that I got this one instead. From what I was reading & seeing in videos on YouTube, this version has 2 zippers on either sides of the pockets, whereas the MTX 2.0 only has the one, so you have to zip and unzip it the entire way. I know it's kind of pedantic, but to me I actually like that small quality-of-life feature. Outside of that and the MTX type, they are practically identical, so I am not going to take off any stars. The bag itself is excellent quality!! Despite it not being waterproof, the main compartment seems like it has a waterproof lining to it. Do not take that as fact though because I haven't tested that aspect of it. Also, the adjustable divider inside is super nice to have, and the pockets on top, the expandable top, and the bungie laces on top are absolutely amazing. The panniers seem to hold a very large amount, and I could even get my laptop and several books inside, so this will be perfect for bike-packing. They also fold up nice and clean into the side pockets, and there's even room left over if you wanted to put some smaller things inside like a wallet, keys, small tools, handcuffs, mice, etc. It also even has a nice shoulder strap so you can carry the bag with you when you leave the bike. (May be a little more cumbersome with the panniers out) My main concern (I haven't used it on any rides yet) is the lack of any kind of Velcro (or similar) fastener for it attach to the sides of the rack. It does, however, have a bungie cord at the bottom of the panniers with a looped end which you can use to fasten to the bottom of the rack where it attaches to the frame, but on my Salsa Journeyer it's way too long and I can't attach it to anything, so I'm going to have to find a solution for this. Gorgeous bag, very well made, and HIGHLY recommended!

Great bag, did not come with the rain cover which sucks but it is what it is. Zippers are very well made. Fabric is thick and the track system this bag uses to secure the bag to the rack is very well built. Easy to put on and take off. I would highly suggest you spend the extra 20 to get this track lock system if you plan on removing the bag from rack even if it's every so often. This bag will not come loose not matter how you ride trail or road.

In brief; great item, best I can find, good to get rid of my back pack, can be improved though. Don't get the wrong idea with the critiscism below it is good, but I feel it could be better. Would rate it 4.5 (I rated it 5 because 4.5 is not an option, rounded it up in this case) I have been using for the it last two weeks as a new bag for my commuter bike. I was using back pack until now. Not quite as large as my back pack for general use until you use the side panels, but still able to get work clothes and towel in the side panels no problems. Lunch and other items go in the main compartment. Extendable top gets use often as the extra height is handy (easy un-zip and done). I was not initially used to the weight on the bike when loaded and didn't realise the extra weight and its effect when out of the saddle, but you get used to it. (Inertia from the weight when mashing up hills and when flip floping around bends). Also when lifting the bike up stairs for road crossings it is heavier (obviously). Attaching to the MTX rack - Didn't suffer any loose slide problems like described earlier, on the contrary it can be difficult to slide off as it is a bit tight,it need to be wiggled a bit and while holding the bike at the same time can be awkward. Getting it on can be little tricky, you have to line up the slides, once done it goes on OK. It should loosen with age or I can use a lubricant if required. The yellow clip locking the bag to the rack needs to be checked to make sure it clicks 'home' but really no issue, it is better knowing this any way as it gives confidence that it is 'ON' the rack. Zippers are an unknown as it is to early to provide useful info, but the don't seem to catch and seem smooth enough. The side panels have lighter grade material but seems OK. Time will tell as too with the stitching which seems OK too. Rear bike light when attached to the rear loop droops down due to the loose material of the rear pocket this reduces it effectivness. Do not know how to improve that yet as if I put the light it to the rack it will likely get broken. Cannot fit it to the seat post as the bag obscures it. I would like it more if it had a one or more smaller pockets to put tube,lever,tools,keys,loose change etc. The adjustable velcro attached divider in the main compartment does it for now (it only has velcro on the sides, it should also have it on the bottom to give a better seal so small items can be kept with out moving all through the bag)has my wallet,phone,loose change. The rear pocket, meant for a drink bottle is not practicle for that, it is way too far away from you when riding and would flop about when hitting bumps etc, anyway, I have a cage for that. The pocket has no zipper but the elastic bungee with locking tab is OK but items could fall out(tube,tools,levers in here but are a bit exposed). The elastic bungee cord on the top is good for jackets or other items of clothing not required, but taken with you 'just in case', but make sure the cord is tight as I think I lost a vest this morning. I was a bit sloppy in putting it on the bag. A small pocket on the inside of the lid is OK so long as the item stored is narrow else it may touch what ever is in the main compartment when you close the lid. I don't use it yet. On the hole it is probably the best solution currently available for what I require.
