I used a stud locator and once I had the holes pre drilled install was a breeze. Maybe not obvious on "instructions". These are the nicest option I have found to store my mountain bike a XL size frame and my sons mountain bike.. They obviously don't go on like vertical mounts which also rubs tire off wall and can be pain to use so I really really like the horizontal design if you have the wall space try these. I like they fold back when not in use. ... show more

put these up in less then an hour had to drill a bit to install but after that they went up quick for 30 bucks it saved the day

    • Good Hangers, Poor Bolts
These hangers work well but the drywall bolts that come with them are not great, not very secure. I recommend using toggle-type drywall anchors instead - they will keep the mount much more secure when hanging on drywall. If you are hanging the mount onto a stud though, the included bolts are great. I got two of these each hanging on dry wall without studs using toggle-type anchors, one is holding an 18lb bike and another is holding a 29lb bike without any issues. ... show more

Seems like a sturdy enough mount. Both bikes I have hung using them are well below the rated weight; if trying to hang a heavy mountain bike ymmv. Installation is pretty simple as long as you can locate the studs. It does require a suitable sized drill and a 10mm wrench / socket.
