Easy to mount and hold the bikes up quote well. Mildly difficult to get the bikes off if you mount them to close to the ceiling, so be mindful of that. Especially with different bike tire diameters.

Mounted four of these, spaced 24 inches apart, onto sheetrock-covered wall studs (using a stud locator) on the back wall of the garage. Bikes are: 1 Fuji Absolute LX (commuter bike), 2 each REI DRT 1.1 Mt bikes, and 1 Surly LHT touring bike. (I separated the 2 mt bikes with the LHT due to handle bar interference.) I used the screws that came with it (but obviously not the sheet rock "sleeves' - and I agree with many others, why did they even include these when they make a strong statement to mount on studs?) They each hang about 12 in off the garage floor. Easy to get on and off. ... show more

The racks themselves work great and seem to be well-made. However, the hardware included both doesn't make sense and doesn't work as well as it could. First of all, it comes with drywall anchors. The packaging says to not mount the racks on drywall without a stud, which is correct. However, you shouldn't be using drywall anchors in studs as they don't work that way. Additionally, the screws included didn't bite well into the 2×4's so I used deck screws instead to prevent stripping. Otherwise I'd give this product 5 stars. ... show more

This product is well made and easily handles the weight of our mountain bikes. I recommend mounting them to a stud rather that to sheet rock. IMO the screws and hollow wall anchors seemed a little light for the weight I expected them to hold so I used longer screws to provide a more secure mount directly to the wall studs. ... show more
