  • One of the Best Sci-Fi Horror Experiences I’ve Played in a While
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
The atmosphere is incredible from the start the combination of space exploration, paranoia, and survival horror kept me hooked the entire time. The visuals are seriously impressive. The lighting, facial animations, and overall presentation feel very cinematic, especially with headphones and the DualSense features turned on. The sound design alone adds so much tension during certain moments. What I liked most is how your choices actually feel important. There were multiple times where I had to pause and think before making a decision because I didn’t want to lose a character. The story also has that classic sci-fi horror vibe that reminded me of movies like The Thing and Alien. It’s not a nonstop action game, so people looking for constant combat might not connect with it as much, but if you enjoy cinematic horror, suspense, and branching stories, this is definitely worth playing. ... show more

  • Dead Space without the weapons. SCARY
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
I love these games because you get to make decisions that truly matter. One wrong step or decision can cost someone their life. Although there is a rewind feature if you want to play that way, but I'd recommend playing it straight through with permanent death on first. It's also very scary. A couple times I had to take a break because of fear. It's different than Dead Space because in Dead Space you at least get powerful weapons. There is none of that here. Just you and your wits. It's a little on the high price right now but if you can get it on sale I'd pick it up. Support the developers so they can continue to make these games that we love so much. ... show more

  • Excellent Space Horror Game
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
Probably the best "Dark Pictures" game, or tied with House of Ashes potentially. I like that it had more story than just "scenes in-between death to death". Some of the other entries from this series seem like you're just biding time until the next character dies - which made all the others pretty lame (minus House of Ashes). This felt more like an actual story playing out. I like the different endings you can get, and the nuances. It's not just two different endings. I also like the addition of more things to explore and find. You can actually veer off the path and look in different rooms and learn new snippets of the story - which wasn't fairly common in the other Dark Pictures games; few of these actually can change how the characters interact with eachother. It was nice that they got rid of the "hold your controller still" or press x to a heartbeat stealth mechanic. Now you do active sneaking, and can also cause distractions. I feel like that gives you more agency and is more fun than holding your controller still. They also didn't abuse the QTE mechanic. Overall, huge improvement over the other "Dark Pictures" games that Supermassive has made. I'm excited to see if they keep tweaking and improving their formula for the future. ... show more

  • Nope
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
The graphics on this were naughty dog level, but from PS3 or PS4 early days at best. Mine constantly crashed and had storage issues, system issues kept coming into the slow fmv scenes and the pacing was a bit off. Overall, annoying. Slow. Buggy. Got irritated and returned it to Amazon. Not because the IP is clearly a rip off of The Thing and The expanse. ... show more

  • I mean it’s alright
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
Its a alright game. The lore is good and gameplay. But the studio has made better games in the past. For example The Quarry, The Devil in me, and last but not least the trilogy of Man of Medan. If your bored and want to play go for it. But you wont have the feeling of a supermassive game until the end of the game unfortunately. ... show more

  • You gotta play this game!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
This game is just fun! If you like horror, or more specifically space horror, this game is for you. Event Horizon anyone? This has been my favorite Dark Pictures game in a long time by a mile! You now have the option to go back immediately and change your choices and that’s awesome. No longer do you have to play the entire game again and spend hours just to save a character or change an outcome you didn’t like. The cool little music “video” at the end of each chapter with the narrative also hyped me up for the next chapter and the music was awesome. If you’ve played this series before you gotta play this one and if you’ve haven’t this is an excellent entry point. ... show more
