Since I have two solar panel arrays, the 2-input, 2-output switch looked ideal to me. It does not use hard-mounted MC4 plugs on its outer casing. Instead it uses cabled MC4 plugs fed into the box via standard water-resistant cable glands, which provides an additional level of fault tolerance and strain relief. So I don't have the concerns about MC4 plug breakage that have been illustrated in some of the other reviews. Installation was as simple as matching the cable ends leading to my arrays to the side that fit them. Red-to-red and black-to-black. The TOP plugs on the switch should be the ones feeding from your panels and the bottom plugs feed to your storage system. This is exactly as illustrated in the wiring diagram on the Amazon product page. I positioned the switch to the Off position, plugged in my two arrays, checked to make sure no mistakes, turned the switch to On and it worked as it should. ... show more

The front panel had some weird blue markings and a scratch making it seem used. It could have also been an issue with the poor packaging. The DC input was fine but the out was reversed. I had to swap the red with black and black with red on.
