    • Worthless - won't calibrate or hold calibration
Don't waste your money on this pH meter because it simply doesn't work. I purchased this one because it had the highest number of reviews and seem to be decent for a cheap pH meter, however after failing to calibrate correctly multiple times all that this meter has done for me is cause frustration. I'm not new to PH meters and this is certainly not my first one, but I wanted a cheap backup that would give me PH to .1 accuracy. This meter will calibrate the first value correctly but won't calibrate the second two and as soon as you turn it off it loses calibration and needs to be recalibrated with the initial solution - but that doesn't matter anyway because even when it is "calibrated" the given pH value swings by entire points in one direction or the other, seemingly at random. Don't be fooled by the number of reviews on this meter, it's not worth the frustration and you'll regret the time wasted having to even ship it back for a refund. ... show more

    • Great home pH meter as long as you calibrate it correctly
I am a biochemist and have been using pH meters for close to 40 years. This is a well designed little meter that comes with specific pH buffers to calibrate the instrument but the calibration instructions are WRONG and if you so what the package insert says you are guaranteed to get an inaccurate reading. The pH scale, being a log scale is not completely linear across the range from pH 1 to 14 (the upper limit of the scale). Because of this, if you are measuring things that are acidic (below pH of 7 which is neutral) you first calibrate it at pH 4 then at pH 6.86. If you are going to measuring things that are alkaline (about pH 7), then you calibrate at pH 6.86 and pH 9.18. The package says to calibrate at 4.0 then 6.86 and then 9.18 but when you do that and remeasure the buffers, their pH will be off because of the poor linearity of that long a scale. If you calibrate the meter by the way I just described, the accuracy of this meter is delightful. (This was actually a chemistry problem on a test I took in freshman chemistry back in the day!) ... show more

    • Horrible swings, spend the $100+ on a good meter and be done with it.
Only get this if you want a rough idea of PH. Ive ordered 3x with .40+ swings in both directions, while calibrated at the same time in the same solutions. $60+ in cheap PH meters that caused unhappy plants, was my largest mistake to date. Just to save myself $120 on a tool that ended up being one of the most vital in my arsinal. Plus, not only are the $100+ ones actually accurate, most of them offer other features, like different probes for PPM, etc. ... show more

    • Defective maybe?
Was a pain to calibrate and after calibration was innacurate and jumped all over the place withe the reading. Comes with powders you have to mix to test PH yourself which can be a pain if you spill which will affect the PH and they are 1 time use most likely. Different brand i bought came with premix liquid that can be used over an over again and was spot on accurate even when testing with my PH strips. Spend the extra money on a better one. ... show more

    • It Don't Work
I ordered this because it was easier to order a new meter than to get batteries for my old meter. Because of weather I hadn't needed a meter for some time. When I tried to use it it just flashes trash on the display. That doesen't do me much good!

Pile of junk with no support. Followed directions to a T. Would not calibrate. Instructions actually have small print note discussing a broken wire if calibration does not work. Well, guess what? Yep, this tester must have been delivered broken. Worst part is the message from the Seller when he says:”... I can’t find your order, are you sure you bought this item?” Don’t waste your money. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. DO NOT BUY!! This is a scam trash product. I thought maybe the first one was just damaged so returned it and got another. They both do the same thing. First they dont read anything then the screen jumps around with a bunch of numbers real fast. Then it goes back to 0. This is after calibration and reading all the instructions as best as possible since they are poorly written in broken english. Also they instructions say to not hold it in the water below the “immersion line” - this must be an imaginary line because its not marked on the device anywhere. Again, total piece of trash.
