  • Perfect small digital Camera
I bought this for my 17 yr old grand daughter at Christmas! She loves it !

  • Good entry level point and shoot camera
I worked on the design, manufacturing, and test of digital cameras for over fifteen years and continue to be a serious amateur photographer. As I evaluated this digital camera, I compared it to other entry level point and shoot cameras, not DSLRs, mirrorless, or even mobile phone cameras. My feeling that compared to its competition, this one has reasonably good features and performance. Specifically, the boot time (power on until it’s ready to take a photo) is reasonably fast, and the shutter delay (how long it takes to capture the image after pressing the shutter button) isn’t bad. The industrial design is also nice. Most users for this class of camera will take photos and videos in ‘auto’ mode and it perform OK in that mode. Image quality is also fairly good, and you can change the MP settings to make the tradeoff between higher megapixels, and therefore better large prints, or smaller file sizes and therefore more images can be stored on the memory card. For the more advance user, this is where I feel the camera falls short. First, while you can change the ISO and eV settings, the metadata is not stored with the image so there really is no record of those changes (I know, most people considering this camera won’t know what that means and that’s OK if you only plan to use the ‘auto’ setting). While I took photos with different ISO and eV settings, I could not really see any difference in Photoshop. From a usability perspective, my biggest complaint is when you are in ‘Setting’ and have navigated to different levels of changes, you need to navigate back out of all the menus before you can capture another image. That means if you are trying to make a setting change and want to immediately capture an image, you can’t until you navigate back out of Settings. Ideally, you should be able to press the shutter button to capture an image regardless of where you are in the ‘Setting’ menu. The camera does use a micro SD card, has a wrist strap (I strongly encourage the user to always use the camera while wearing a wrist strap because based on my professional experience with camera service and support, dropping the camera is the primary reason cameras break), and a metal insert for the tripod mount. If you are only looking for a point and shoot camera for an entry level photographer then this one will work fine in most situations. ... show more

  • Nice Camera
I brought this for my 12 year old son. The camera is very user friendly and easy operate.

  • Ideal for Older Kids
This is a surprisingly capable point and shoot digital camera that's ideal for kid's use. I bought this for a 13 year old to take photos after comparing it to other "Kid's cameras" sold on Amazon. I previously bought another kid's camera model and wasn't at all satisfied with the image quality. This camera is a little more expensive than some other cameras intended for kids' use but it operates more like a real digital camera instead of a cheap toy. The controls on this camera are marked so they made enough sense that I didn't even need the manual to operate it (unlike the limited multi-function buttons on other kid's camera models). It also doesn't include any of the games that they insist on adding to the other kid's cameras. Unlike a lot of the other kid's cameras this camera doesn't feature the faux lens projection out of the camera body which means this camera fits better into a pocket or a carrying pouch. Like many cameras of this type the images suffer in low light, but this camera does provide a flash feature - another thing missing from a lot of digital cameras intended for kids. The only real complaint I've had is this flash doesn't work automatically and has to be turned on each time the camera is powered on. Transferring photos to the PC is easy - simply plug in a USB-C cable and select the transfer function on the camera with a single button push and it shows up as a USB drive. Image quality is just OK - most mobile phones probably take better photos. But between the form factor and features this is an ideal choice for an older child who might not have a mobile phone yet. ... show more

  • Nice little point and shoot! Probably too advanced for many 8-10 yr olds.
I should start by saying I’ve been a professional photographer for 30+ years. This will eventually be a gift for my grandson. it takes a decent photo and, once set, is easy top use. I feel that the multiple menu pages, and settings are a little too advanced for ‘most’ users under 12 yrs. But, if an adult helps them get it set up, and helps them download the images, they should be able to learn the basics. At least enough to have fun with it. 4 stars because I think it’s marketed to children a little too young. ... show more

  • Love this throwback and the opportunity to put down the smart phone!
We are loving this camera. The ability to put down our smart phones (and all of the distractions) and just focus on being present with our family is such a gift. As a mom, I love that I can send this with my middle schoolers when they're in a dance performance or on a field trip so they can capture the memories without a phone. This has been a great solution for our family who has opted to delay phones from what seems to be the norm. Our kids have smart watches they can use to call mom and dad, plus this great camera which seem to be the only positive uses for smart phone use in the tween population. In terms of the camera specifics, it's simple to use right out of the box. The battery is long lasting and it easily focuses with the auto focus. The flash isn't the most powerful, so look for good light. The included 32 GB memory card will hold plenty of photos. The zoom is digital, so it's definitely possible to over zoom and end up with some pixelization, as I'm sure we all remember from the early 2000s. It's very compact and lightweight, so it's easy to toss in a purse or coat pocket, or keep in an easily accessible spot. All in all, we're very happy with this affordable nostalgic camera!! ... show more
