This digital caliper tool is decent. It is immediately obvious that this tool is of lower build quality. Everything that could be plastic is plastic, which I consider a shortcoming in most tools. My old trusty digital caliper tool is solid steel and the two feel vastly different just from holding them. That said, this set is very inexpensive, so I think the low cost will make it a good choice for some people. As for accuracy, it is sufficient, but not perfect. I find that it always measures close to my trusted set even though it seems be very slightly different. A factor in that is probably that this one only goes to one decimal place while my old digital calipers measure to two decimal places. Bottom line, if you need a cheap decent set of calipers and don’t care whether they are made to last, these might be right for you.

what a cool tool to have. I fiddle around with bikes allot and it seems that I am always trying to figure out what part fits what...everything is in mm's and inches and has to be exact or it does not fit. This is a wonder tool. It is accurate and light and easy to use. This is my second one of these and I have not been steered wrong yet. It is powered by one of those coin batteries....and yah....I worried about that too...but my first one has been in constant use for over 4 years and has the same battery. Plus, they send a sealed extra one...so by the time that one needs it, you might be ready to replace it anyway. That brings me to the one fault with the tool. The battery door is right under you finger when you use this thing and I find myself constantly pulling the door off as I use the tool . I could tape it in place but that gums things up. I would hope that the next re-design would move the door to the back or something.

I was debating getting a caliper for some time. I thought of a number of uses but never really "needed" one. I could make do without one but after getting this, I'm super glad that I made this order. I deal a lot with computer parts and need very accurate measurements there. I also dove into a number of home improvement projects after purchasing a home after a long time of renting and this comes in handy for sure. I have items with measurements we are sure of and this item was very accurate. It does exactly what we wanted and this will be the type of tool we keep in the top drawers rather than keep in storage somewhere. I also like that the item comes with spare batteries. Only time will tell how long these last but luckily, we have three (including the one in the device already) which makes me feel secure the item can be used for a long period. We can also get extras later, of course.

For those of use used to working with metal calipers, do not let the light weight fool you. The carbon fiber does have some flex but should be strong. You can switch between mm and inches, and zeroing the jaws is easy as well. Maximum opening is 6.11 inches and the ruler stops at 6. The guide arm that sticks out flexes - I just hope it does not break off by accident. I found the jaws to function just like a metal caliper. Using a 1/4 in drill bit - one that I know is 1/4 on my original caliper - this unit produces a 0.25 inch result. You can power off the unit and there are a spare pair of batteries included. It this is a durable unit, the value is definitely here.

Well packaged handy little tool. Some of the things I like about this product are: The packaging is actually a case to keep the device safe. Measures depth, interior, and exterior measurements up to 6 inches. Digital display is large and easy to read. Also has a manual ruler on the slide bar, which shows inches and millimeters. Reduces down to 1/8 inch. Comes with three batteries. Couple of observations, but not necessarily negatives: The digital display is not backlit. Could be difficult to read in certain lighting. This piece is completely plastic. Some other brands have a metal slide bar which might be more durable. Overall, this is a good little device for basic, around the house, DIY duties.

Just as the ad stated, this caliper is not for high precision work. It is suitable for around the house, hobby or is that going to fit type work. Has a battery installed, just remove the paper tab between the meter and ruler face. They sent two additional batteries so you should be ok for a year or so. Easy to zero out by lining up the meter edge with the zero, closing the nibs completely may not be aligned with the zero on the ruler. Mine is off by a 32nd of an inch. At least this one has the actual units correct, checked it against my steel rule. Auto off in 5 minutes works as well. Glad to have it and will put this to work immediately.

If you’re looking for a decent digital caliper and don’t want to spend big bucks, this is a great choice! It is plastic but thus far is accurate. I use them with my hobby so I’m using it “regularly”. It serves its purpose well for me. It’s super easy to use (no need for instructions since it’s straightforward) and great that it comes with 2 extras batteries. The plastic case is, eh. But good enough to have something to store them in and protect it. Overall I’m very happy with it. I hope this helps you!

First I was really surprised when saw it only takes 1 button size battery yet they give you 3, 1 in caliper you have ti remove the contact paper with and 2 batteries in a package. Honestly that surprised me. Most times you’re lucky to even get 1 battery. Now for the caliper itself. Accurate, easy to use, switch from mm to inches with just a push of the button. Same with the power or reset. A simple push of button. So far this caliper is working great for me.
