I have bought two pairs of these shorts. I bought the Khaki colored and I really liked them. Thick strong material and fits very well. I like them so much that I bought a I like them so much that I ordered a black pair just a couple of days later. These shorts are also very well made but a thinner material and a different style. The Khaki pair has that little metal slide that you hook wow the black pair has a button. The Khaki pair has really nice thick belt loops while the black pair has small thin ones that I pretty much can I expect to break sometime soon. I like both pairs but I'm a little upset that they are completely different styles. Nothing in the description says that different colors are made in different styles

EDIT: It's been a few years since I ordered the 32s and I have been slacking on bike riding since. I have gone up to size 36. I am planning to ride a lot this summer again so I decided to order one of these in 36 and also grabbed some new wrangler shorts in 36. These in size 36 measure 36.5 while the 36 wranglers measure 38.5. 2 full inch difference is way bigger than I had with the only 1 inch difference in 32s with the Wranglers being worn out. I don't know if this inconsistent difference is on Dickies end or Wrangles end (or both) but I definitely think a size up is needed at 2 inch difference. It could however just be that wranglers run large and these are proper size, hence why I am telling the measurements. It makes sense to me that 36's should be about 36 inches, but I question a lot of the measurement systems we use sometimes. Original: I measured my old worn out 32 Wrangler shorts and they have a circumference of 34 inches. Size 32 of these measures about 33 inches. They are admittedly smaller but these are new and my other shorts are worn out so I think they are likely fairly close to the same size when both new. As for the length shown in the picture, that depends how tall you are and how high up you wear them. I got these for wearing on bike rides since I cant have bagginess in the crotch area when pedaling and regular shorts ride up to show over half of my thighs when worn up that high. These shorts stop right at my knees when worn this high.

So far, so good. I have washed these shorts several time without any loss of color, shrinking, or seam splitting. My boyfriend is 6'5", so it's difficult to find shorts that aren't TOO short for him. These fall right below his knees, which is great. I like the strong velcro-latch pockets. The pockets have not become mishapen or lumpy like they do with other cargo shorts. I also really like the metal latch above the zipper, as opposed to a button. Those buttons ALWAYS come off. This is a much more secure way to fit the waist, and for him (size 36) they fit perfectly. Great buy, we'll be getting more like it.

I got 3 pairs of knockoffs. They are not the same ones in the adds pictures and they are not the same as the ones I ordered last year (give or take). They have different size belt loops, different color stitching, totally different stitched pattern, didn't have the 1.5" wide white inner waistband saying Loose Fit with the Dickies logo, and these came with a plastic button instead of the metal flat hook style latching system. Sadly I didn't notice the differences until after I had already tried them on and washed them. They fit as I had expected them too do. I'm just bummed out that this happened at a time when I had to have them for my new job. The pictures I took show one of the same 3 shorts I just received. Even the black and gray ones that are a different style have the white inner waistband with Loose Fit and the Dickies logo, the metal flat hook style latch, and the same color stitching and stitched patterns.

I know that fit, pockets and whatever else is subjective so it's hard to "review" clothing outside of whether or not it falls apart or lasts. So, my "review" is entirely based on what I would have liked to know before buying these shorts. The inseam is long, I knew this, but I didn't know how low the bottom of the seat sits, THEN the inseam. I've got short legs, which doesn't help the issue but these are 9inches past my knees. The secondly, the belt loops are incredibly tight for a larger belt like mine. It's 1.5in wide and a bit thick. I had to feed my belt through with the shorts off and with great effort. So, I hope you don't plan to use a large belt. The worst of the issues, the pockets suck. A lot. They are nice and wide at the top, but tapper very quickly as you go into the pocket. Granted, I have a Razer Phone 2, but it barely fits my phone, let alone my hand and phone in order to retrieve my phone from my pocket. I'm not sure how these are "work" shorts if the pockets are small, you basically can't use a heavy duty belt and the sizing is off. They are also very tight in the hip section. I always buy pants 2 sizes larger because I have big thighs and I also conceal carry. Normally 2 sizes bigger are massive on me in the waist and big in the hips and thighs, these are far from that, these fit like a snug correct size would in the hips, 1 size up in the waist but fine in the thighs.

My husband bought a few pairs of these shorts for work 3 years ago and is still wearing them. He liked them so much he decided to add a few more to the rotation. So we bought 2 more and the new ones are his "day off" pairs while the "old" pairs are strictly for work. Dickies always makes sure their articles of clothing are well made, and these are really no exception. The downside is that it takes a LONG time for them to soften up and get really comfortable. It probably doesn't help that we machine wash them but then hang them to dry - I think that preserves the quality and prevents excessive wear, but then it also prevents for the fabric to break down and get cozy. The way we dry them, they'll probably last forever.
