  • A too small tube for wounds
This product did not do anything to help wounds heal. The tube was extremely small and it did not appear to work to heal wounds.

  • It made my skin break out with acne
It is ointment, which means it is oil-based, which made my super sensitive skin break out which led me to stop using this. I cannot state how or if it helps with healing because I only applied it once. It did not hurt or burn when applied to an existing wound. There is a scent which smells to me like beer-breath, not entirely unpleasant but that's what it reminds me of. ... show more

  • absorbs quickly, but smells pretty bad
7/22/2022: Lavior DB Wound Gel - Natural Healing Ointment, Cortisone and Steroid Free, Diabetic Skin, Tube 0.5 fl. oz I like to keep some sort of wound treatment in my house, just in case, but I've been trying to stay away from antibiotic ointments unless I already have an infection. I like to have something I can put on wounds before they are infected without having to worry about contributing to antibiotic resistant infections and disrupting my skin's microbiome. This meets that criteria. This gel is a lot thinner than I expected - not thick like petroleum jelly. This makes it a lot easier to spread out over a larger area, and it absorbs pretty quickly, although it is also more difficult to target smaller wounds. I think I prefer this thinner consistency, since it doesn't make my fingers feel too oily or sticky after use. I have a very sensitive sense of smell, apparently (judging by the number of times I've complained to friends about smells that they can't smell at all), so I'm not sure if you really want to go by my opinion here, but I really don't like the smell of this wound gel. I can't identify exactly what I don't like about it, but I do not find it pleasant at all - it's a bit jarring. I smelled it the moment I opened the tube, before applying any to my skin at all. Fortunately the smell doesn't linger for too long once it absorbs, but it's pretty awful until that point. I guess it is still better than if they added fragrance to try to cover it up though. They give you a such a small amount for the price (currently almost 26 dollars for .5 oz). The thinner consistency makes me feel that it will not last as long as I would hope for that price. That plus the smell is worth deducting a star, in my opinion. Solid 4 stars though. ... show more

  • Seems to work pretty well but very expensive!
Review of Lavior DB Wound Gel - Natural Healing Ointment, Cortisone and Steroid Free, Diabetic Skin, Tube 0.5 fl. oz @ $27.95 at time of order and review. Brand: Lavior We have a diabetic German Shepherd. It just so happened that he was getting a hot spot when this became available, so I ordered it to try since it was advertised as being for diabetic skin. He takes human insulin and has to follow all other human protocols for diabetes, so I figured this might work well for him. Some regular medications do not work so well. This seems to work pretty well. It has helped his hot spot tremendously thus far. Likes: It works! It's easy to apply. The expiration was far enough out (although you really don't get very much product to begin with). Dislikes: The cost! It seems that just because something is made specifically to treat some special type of medical need, it automatically costs more. The odor was not very pleasant. You do not get very much at all. This is a very small tube of this stuff. Due to this and the cost, I felt that deducting 1 star was appropriate. I hope that this helps someone decide whether or not to order this product. ... show more

  • Luxurious and Miraculous diabetic Ointment from Lavior!!
This Lavidor wound gel is absolutely perfect!! In this amazing ointment it contains half a ounce of allantoin ointment. I enjoy how this has an expiration date 3 years into the future!! The ointment is a little yellowish and the texture is close to vaseline! Thought this is very lightweight and can absorb like magic! I enjoy the fast refinement of my skin! My injuries feel protected after I use this ointment! My favorite part is how this can also be used for diabetic people! I am super glad their is so many uses for this! This is also a great use for dry and itchy skin! Overall I am very impressed and satisfied! This is truly an among multi use product! ... show more

  • Effectively heals
This is my first experience with an allantoin based wound care product. I found that it did help heal a few stubborn wounds that I have on my heels, after a few days of use (using twice per day). It is a slightly runny, odorless gel. The tube is very small, so I used it sparingly. It was still effective with light applications. Allantoin is known to have a calming effect on the skin. Not sure if it's any more calming than other hydrating gels, but it does soothe dry cracked skin. ... show more

  • Seems okay
I had a series of skin lesions removed, which is supposed to ‘help’ me, it still leaves my skin a disaster and in need of help with the healing process. So what did I think of this? Smell: Weirdly, it smells like old beer to my nose and it does linger. How goes on: It’s a gel but also super light and seems to absorb relatively quickly. Made my skin tingle a bit, which I think is from the alcohol. Overall: I can’t always use cortisone even if it does seem to promote faster healing, so I’m always on the lookout for alternatives. I like that this one is non-toxic and plant-based. I’m not sure that I’d use it all the time, but I will definitely keep it on hand. ... show more
