  • From an avid camper, this tent is the best!!
Color: Green Size: 6 person
I’m obsessed with this tent! My boyfriend and I are avid campers, and we do a lot of travel camping where we are packing up and setting up our campsite quite a bit. We wanted a bigger tent that was still small enough to pack easy, a tent that is better in rain and wind, and a tent that wasn’t a pain to set up- this was the winner!! This was very easy to set up and take down, but I will say if you only have one person I think it would be a little bit harder to put up, but with two people it was easy! We haven’t had down pouring rain since we’ve had this tent, but we have use it in the rain and everything was completely dry and it held up very well and I was never worried about it. It’s done well with decent wind gusts and so far it seems to be pretty sturdy! It’s nice and spacious, we typically air up an air mattress, but if you didn’t use an air mattress, you could very easily fit six people if not more depending on how big they are in this tent. Having the little outdoor component is amazing! It really helps us keep the inside of the tent nice and clean and it’s also nice for shade, keeping the bugs away and just having another little space that’s not zipped up in the tent! Air ventilation is good, if you have the window open, you can get some good airflow, but on the other hand if it’s really cold, it feels like it keeps body heat in the tent pretty well. It was also very easy to fold up and get back in the bag, we’ve had a lot of struggle with folding tents up and making them fit back in their original bag… But this one was not a problem at all! The zippers are nice and smooth so far as well which is great because anyone who camps knows a messed up zipper is so frustrating. We almost got the 8 person tent but we were afraid it would be too big, but I think it would have been great! For the space this tent gives, it doesn’t take as much ground space as I was expecting! All in all I give this tent a 10/10 and we are excited to use this tent more often! ... show more

  • Great tent
Color: Dark Blue Size: 6 person
This is a great tent! It held up just fine thru rain and wind camping from MN to GA and back with 3 adults and 2 kids (1 kids with a cot). Still had plenty of room. I can put it up by myself, but super easy and quick setup with 2 ppl. All of the zippers have held up against the constant in and out of 2 littles. The porch is my favorite feature. Spacious enough for 2 chairs, a small table, and rolling cooler with plenty of room to enter/exit without moving. My only complaint, is that it's an open floor. For it's size, it's very lightweight. It only uses 9 total poles. Color coordinated, 3 top bars & 6 support poles. ... show more

  • Very nice tent!
Color: Orange Size: 8 person
Love this tent! My daughter and I took this tent camping a few times and were very impressed! It kept us dry during some very heavy rain and kept us from getting bitten a lot by bugs. We spent a lot of time in the screened in room. A couple of tips we always do and I highly recommend, put down a ground sheet before setting up your tent and use an indoor/outdoor rug for the screen room. Also consider a rug for just inside the side door so you have a place for muddy or sandy shoes. Another positive, all three times we have used this tent, we were able to easily get everything back into its storage bag. This tent can be set up and taken down by one person but it is very difficult. Two people make it a lot easier. ... show more

  • I love it!
Color: Dark Blue Size: 6 person
This tent is great! I absolutely love it so far. It says this tent takes 2 people to set up, but I was able to set it up by myself, having never set up a tent before in my life. The instructions that come with the tent are not great, so I went on YouTube and found the video for how to set it up on the Portal Tent's page. I bought this tent for my camping trips with my dog and I, and the size is great, although I'm not sure how it could comfortably sleep 6 people...maybe if they're packed in like sardines! But I have a queen sized air mattress, and it still leaves some room for storing your things. So the size is perfect for my dog and I. I love the screened in porch area as well, it really does help keep the flying bugs out. That being said, the porch does not have a bottom, so make sure to put a tarp down to help keep the critters on the ground away. I love the option for a view of the stars at night if you leave the rainfly off. The rainfly is super simple to take on and off. It did rain a bit on my last trip, and the tent stayed nice and dry. I do wish there was at least one window on the sides (there's only 2 windows...one in the back, and one on the door), but the ventilation was just fine, as I slept with both windows open. Also, I would recommend buying some better stakes, as the ones that come with it are not the best. I bought the heavy duty nail stakes and they stayed in the entire time. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend this tent if you are looking for something that is good quality and is a relatively easy set up! ... show more

  • Very large and practical!
Color: Brown Size: 8 person
Amazing tent, we've been camping with this probably a total of 2 weeks throughout the year in every climate. It's large enough to put a king sized air mattress at the end and still have over half the tent for everything else. Another plus is plenty of headspace for a 6' person, storage pockets for all the corners, and a perfect spot to hang a lamp overhead. The porch area was a big plus for us as well. I liked that it doesnt have a floor that would pool up water in the rain and it's big enough to cover our two bikes and still have space for a camp chair and cooler. The only downside to this tent is that it would be very difficult to set up if you dont have two people as the steel bars connect horizontally and would fall over and disconnect if you dont have another person helping to hold up the tent. Otherwise, it's not bad, takes about 15 minutes with practice, and could easily accommodate an entire family! ... show more

  • screen arrived damaged, but strong tent!
Color: Dark Blue Size: 6 person
We were eager to purchase this tent, as it met all our requirements. However, upon opening the package, we found a hole in one of the screens. To keep bugs out, we quickly repaired it before taking the tent camping. Despite this setback, the tent performed well. It kept us dry during three inches of heavy rain and withstood winds over 30 MPH, thanks to its numerous anchor points—all of which we used. The tent offered impressive spaciousness, easily accommodating our air mattress without any difficulty. Initially, I had concerns that placing the mattress in the center might make standing inside awkward or cramped. However, those worries quickly disappeared once we set everything up—the tent provided more than enough height and room, allowing us to stand comfortably regardless of the mattress’s position. Would be 5 stars if it wern't for the hole in the screen. ... show more

  • Perfect Tent- LOVE the screened vestibule!
Color: Dark Blue Size: 6 person
Really great tent, easy to assemble. I put this tent together, solo in about 12-15 mins. I wish it had a floor bottom in the screened area, but I had an outdoor rug to cover the ground! I would definitely recommend this tent. Personal, I think its a 2 person tent, especially if you have alot of gear. ... show more

  • Loving it so far!
Color: Dark Blue Size: 6 person
Update: I've had this tent for a while now but am updating now that I've had the chance to use it a couple of times. The first time out, the roof was super saggy and I had a heck of a time hoisting it all up (not difficult but took more effort than I later realized was needed). So much of the chilly air kept gusting in because of the huge gap between the mesh roof and the rain fly. Fast forward to having gained lots more experience camping, and I realize this is the kind of tent that definitely needs to be staked down FIRST. As if magically, having all sides staked and secured made setup that much easier! I didn't have to hoist or work to pull the whole shebang up at all! Just inserted the poles easily and víolá. Besides that, having the base properly staked resulted in a nice taught roof just like the product images. What I great reward that was to see lol I enjoyed my trip much better this time having had the tent set up much better than the first time. Yay ^_^ Original Review: I'm so excited to use this tent for the first time! I set it up in my living room which had me climbing on the sofa to do because it's so big lol Easy to set up (if you don't mess up like I did despite the directions and another reviewer's advice). Let me reiterate this one point to save someone else the mistake lol... PAY ATTENTION TO THE POLE COLORS. I honestly thought I'd put the colors in the right way, but in the end, I had the long pole where the short pole (the colored one...mine was blue) was meant to go and spent several minutes struggling to get that part situated. Once it finally dawned on me what I'd done, the rest of the setup was a breeze. I did it solo even though it says it's a 2 person job. I was concerned about the quality of the roof poles as they are fiberglass and seemed a bit thin/fragile. I saw a review where someone's had broken, so I think I had that in mind too. They bent normally though and went up just fine. Even though I am tall, if setting up solo, it might be a good idea to place the rain fly on top before raising it because the top does seem rather high even for me. It packs away nicely (unlike the last horrible tent that I had to return and could barely get back in the carry bag let alone the box)... And is not too heavy at about 20lbs. Very spacious inside. I got a queen size mattress the go in horizontally because there would be just too much empty space with just a twin bed. I also really love the little porch part and hope it will keep bugs away while cooking. ... show more
