My daughter wanted her room redone for her birthday. She has a small room and a needed a desk, so a loft bed was perfect! It is wobbly but that’s expected since the legs are so skinny. As others have said the ladder bars hurt your feet, but pipe foam is the perfect fit! I would not anchor this to the wall with how wobbly it can get when making the bed. It would rip the wall, but it’s sturdy enough to not topple over. If it does then your kid is horse playing. I’m 144lbs and I get up there just fine. We removed the fan on the ceiling and just put a light in its place, since the room is small, but we did anchor a table top fan to the wall for circulation and it works great. She loves the desk at the bottom! It was not hard to put together with 2 people and maybe took us an hour and half to do. Instructions were easy to follow. Overall great bed! So my number one concern with a bed like this from Amazon was the quality and ease of assembly. It was super easy to build. My 9 year old son and I built it in about 2 hours. It’s good construction but it does wobble quite a bit. I bought 1.5” U brackets and anchored it to the wall and it is absolutely solid and does not move at all. I am 5’01 and 110 lbs so the biggest challenge for me was just getting the box inside. I ended up opening it on my front porch and taking it out in pieces and hauling it upstairs to my sons room that way. Once Al the pieces were in the room to be assembled, I got to work on it by myself for roughly an hour and got a good majority of it done before I have to stop and wait for someone else to get home and assist me (forgot to mention I did this while 8 months pregnant so I really had to pace myself and not push my physical limits) Once my son (12) got home from school and he helped me to hold the pieces up to connect them and together we finished assembling the bed in roughly 2 more hours. A fair warning to watch your hands when assembling the mattress support areas cause it will pinch your skin if you aren’t careful. The last step of loading the mattress was completely by my husband when he got home as this was again outside of my scope of capabilities in my current state. Watch out for any ceiling fans when moving the mattress up, as it did knock my sons fan off track, which my husband had to fix. My son loves it so far tho, he plays his games on the desk below and says he sleeps better at night being closer to the fan. Only complaint he has is it is a bit wobbly when he moves around and the ladder is a little painful on his feet. 1 YEAR UPDATE: the bed continues to be awesome! everyday i am happy with this product! i have room to work out in my room now and just hang out and lay on the floor ha ha. The bed is great! Not just for kids, great for adults. I can sit comfortably underneath it with my laptop and work and then just go up to sleep. Straightforward build. Everything labeled. Took a few hours but not bad at all. I have the LOW loft and it feels sturdy. I made sure the clearance underneath would be enough for me and it IS. Good product! However, consider EXTERNAL factors: If your upstairs neighbor is noisy and stomps around or jumps or whatever they do… this loft will bring you closer to the noise since it’s closer to the ceiling. My ceiling isn’t that high so the noise is now closer to me. It makes a big difference and not in a good way :( Second, the pipes that run with hot water to heat the apartment are on the ceiling. Now my face is hot hot by the morning time. I’m scared my skin will dry and age faster. :( I can’t control the heat so I just have to figure out what I’m gonna do. :( So, the bed itself is *awesome*! Ladder isn’t painful or maybe my feet are just that tough lol. Great bed. But consider your ceiling and heating. Also you will need a rock to pound in the grey things for the poles. I would give this bed 3.5 stars because it is very wobbly. It seems like it’s made decently but the fact that it shakes so bad is very annoying. We need to figure out a way to secure it to the wall and hopefully that will help. If you have a pillow top mattress like we do, then the bed will come to the top of the safety rail. This is a little concerning because I fear my child will roll off of the bed. Overall we are going to keep the bed because it does the job and serves it purpose of giving us more room. I don’t foresee this bed lasting for many years to come but it will do for the time being. ... show more

Love the end ladder versus side load. Safety. Love the slat side safety bars versus round. Easy to make. Lay the parts out. REMOVE all the cardboardm stryo and wrap from the room. Step by step instructions are very good. Get your 6 year old mechancially minded grandson to insert and start, and semi-tighten threaded machine screws. Follow up by tightening. Easy to build, high qaulity framing materials, and hardware. Right at 2 hours total time to assemble. Weak link is 4mm allen wrench...a little too short to spin it faster and short end will hit neighboring cross pieces. I just grabbed my longer one, with round ball tip hex end to use at different angles...from my Harley mechanics tools and it was supper easy. Without that, a llittle more nerve-wracking and will probably take an extra 10-15 minutes with the wrench provided. Plenty of extra parts if needed. I would still buy it. ... show more

Great value and overall quality. Assembly was easy with two people. This is a metal frame and will move given how top heavy it is when some one gets in it. Secure it to a wall at two points and it will be super solid. I mounted some 1x3 wood to the wall studs and drilled holes in the upper bed rails on the underside and mounted with lag bolts....shaking is a non-issue after that. ... show more
