  • Works Great for Refueling Our Honda Generator - The Leftover Gas Inside the Pump Can Be a Challenge.
Style: Rubber Hose
Our use case so far has been 100% with our Honda Generator during winter storm related power outages. Up in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California where we live, these outages can last anywhere from 5-6 hours to as long as 18 straight days, as was the case during the Feb/March 2023 winter snow storms. The pump itself works great, as does the miniature "Gas Pump Style Handle". Beats the hell out of lifting, balancing and not dripping a full 5 gallon safety can of gas at 2AM, in sub freezing temps, while you are still half asleep!!! The only downside to this device is managing the pump after you are done fueling. The pump retains a about ¼ cup of gasoline inside of itself when you turn the pump off, so you can't just pull the thing out of the gas can without this residual gas dripping out of the Impeller end all over your patio, deck or garage floor. Over time, we have come up with a reasonable solution that works for us... DURING EXTENDED USE: (With something like a Generator during a power outage) Just leave the pump inserted into your gas can until that can is totally empty, or you are sure that you will not be pumping any more gas for the foreseeable future. (Power restored and generator no longer needed) AFTER FUELING IS COMPLETE AND IT IS TIME TO STORE THE PUMP: Before removing the pump from your gas can, try to shake the pump while the impeller is still inside the can and above the remaining fuel level to allow left over gas to drain out back into the can. Run the pump motor DRY for a few seconds if possible to pump out as much gas still left inside the pump itself and into the device you were previously refueling. STORAGE: We used the THUMB portion of a Latex Surgical Glove stretched over the pump's impeller end to catch any remaining gas that will be dripping out of that end of the pump over time, due to simple gravity. (There is no way to get every drop of gas out of the pump, so it will drip gas onto the area directly below where the pump is stored if you don't find some way to plug the impeller end) For us, it wasn't so much the volume of remaining gasoline, but the smell of this gasoline that we were trying to minimize. Our solution has worked out well for us so far. The one thing nobody mentions about these types of products is how to deal with the smelly liquid most of them will be pumping during normal use. ;o) ... show more

  • So far great product
Style: Rubber Hose
Bought multiple of the less expensive pumps. Should have saved my money and went with this initially. The others just don't last. So far this pump works great. The hose is long enough we can even put diesel in the tractor from the can from the ground. No more lifting cans to who knows where. We use it for both gas and diesel. We make sure it drains after each use by holding the nozzle open with the pump end out of the liquid. Drains back into the can. That let's it dry between uses. Had to stock batteries just for it. Most things don't take the bigger battery but no big deal. We keep extra for when we have to change them but haven't had to yet. Overall very satisfied. Should have spent the extra initially and saved myself a few bucks with quality. Plan in getting a couple more so we have them. Nothing lasts forever LOL ... show more

  • Fast filling

I was amazed with the fast filling of my boat tanks with this portable gas pump. Just be careful after using with the remaining gas in the wand!

  • Fuel Transfer Pump
Style: Rubber Hose
Well made and I like the rubber hose instead of the plastic hose .

  • Long enough inlet stick, long enough outlet hose, and no leaks!
Style: Plastic Hose
I finally got around to using this product and found that this product eliminated the problems that others had. I use this to fill our cars with gasoline from 5 gallon plastic fuel cans. First, the connection between the pump and the exit hose is a screwed connection rather than a slip-on or press-on connection. That seems to provide a solid seal and unlike other products I've used, is a leak-free connection. Second, the part that goes into the gas can is long enough to reach the bottom and get almost all of the gasoline out of the can. Other products left almost a half gallon in the can because they were too short. Third, the exit hose is long enough to leave the gas can on the floor and put the hose into the vehicle's gasoline filler. Others required me to put the gas can on a couple milk crates to get it high enough that the exit hose reached and stayed in the car's filler. Another thing about this item is the "pump handle" that gives you a shutoff at the end of the exit hose. I didn't think it was a needed item but I used it. At first I was annoyed because I thought I had to stand there and hold it open. Then I saw that it has a hold-open feature, just like the gas station pump handles do! That was nice! Overall, this seems to be a good value for what I use it for because it has given me no problems, especially leak problems. Time will tell if it continues to provide such but I have more confidence that it will versus the press-on/slip-on exit hose types. ... show more
