  • Only circular you'll ever need
My wife got me this for Christmas last year and needless to say I have found every possible reason to use this bad boy. I have yet to find anything that it struggle with! Better yet , when combined with a flexvilt battery I have only had to charge it once so it is efficient with how it draws from the battery. The led light works like a dream and shines the way of whatever you are currently working on. There is a very clear line mark in the metal that helps you line the blade up perfectly with your mark. It feels great in the hand and well balanced. There is also a hook that you can flip out which I love because it makes hanging it from my pegboard so easy. Another quality product from dewalt. If you are contemplating buying, just stop , and buy it ! ... show more

  • What a Beast!!
What's not to like, this saw is topnotch! Its an impressive saw for me coming from a high quality corded unit. This thing is a beast! Its also weighted just right. The battery lasts and lasts although having 2 batteries would be a better way to go if you are a carpenter with a high work load. You can't go wrong here. ... show more

  • Be sure to have your wood supported when cutting. It does a great job then!
This saw is very good. I like it so much because I don't have to take 5 minutes to get a cord setup and put away. The cord doesn't have to get in the way. It also cuts all day long on the 9 amp hour battery. It's also very fast on cutting with the sharp blade. I do find that the blade is easy to pinch and stop the saw. You should use saw horses to support the boards for cutting. If you do, it works very well and cuts as fast as any electric saw. ... show more

  • Corded power in a cordless platform - a good step-up from the 20v system
My old DeWalt 18v saw gave up on me recently and I needed to replace it. I'm already on the FlexVolt platform with my string trimmer so I figured I'd go with a more powerful saw this time around rather than the 20v units. What I like: It's powerful, all right. I had a recent project that required a lot of cuts from 3/4" MDF and this thing ate it up like it was butter (I got a 60t diablo blade which helped a lot, too). It's basically a corded tool without the cord. What I don't like: It's heavy. Not obnoxiously heavy but just don't go tossing this saw around - not because you'll damage the tool (unlikely) but because you might damage something else. Also, another newer model has just been released that apparently is MORE powerful than this one. This is overkill for a home hobbyist like me. But I'm already invested in the battery platform so I'm good with taking advantage of the power it offers. ... show more

  • Excellent
I like this saw. The only thing i don't like are the drawbacks that come with a standard saw, which is the bevel direction. It goes down and to the left, which feels kind of odd. As for the rest, this thing is a beaty and a powerhouse. The saw has not shuttered once and burned thorugh whatever i've put it through. I immediately installed a diablo 60T blade so i can offer you no opinion on the blade that came with the saw. I can say that even with that fine tooth blade, this things slices through like a hit knife through butter. With the blade it came with, im sure it would cut even faster as it was not a fine finish blade. For a real review you might want to see youtube A Concord / something or other. He does a good job. I am not an everyday user. For me it gets the job done. I used it on pine, walnet, and some heavy duty furniture piece that we've had for like 20 years. It sliced right through it with no issues. Also, the measurements on the fence are a huge help when cutting in non-standard positions. I love it. ... show more

  • Just as Good as Corded
Great saw. Excellent power and the brake makes for safe operation. Battery life is decent but it is a good idea to have a second on hand when you're making a lot of cuts. Even though it is a little on the heavy side, being free of a cord is worth it.

  • Best tool ever!
This is the best tool that is cordless. I was working on my new mailbox that I put up and noticed the wood underneath the mailbox was cracking and so I had to tear off the old wood to put new wood underneath the mailbox. My problem was that I had two choices: Use a handsaw that would take longer to use or use my cordless Dewalt circular saw which you can take anywhere since it is cordless. I used the cordless circular saw with no problem and the saw never had any problems cutting through the wood since it is battery powered and the battery can wear down quickly. The best part is the circular saw is cordless and so far handles anything I can cut; the battery holds up to the challenge. ... show more
