Hello all! If you know me from other products then you know I have something good to tell you😁Here we have DeWalts stud detector with AC and live wire detection and a detection depth of roughly 1-1/2 in and a little hole for screw or hole marking🙃It's cheap for a good amount of important tech,but the reason I give it a 4 star is mainly a personal reason🙁It's power source is 2 tripe AAA batteries,which isn't a big deal I just personally would rather have a USB-C charging for or something like that😅Other than that it is very light,great quality,nice price and easy to use with just the push of a button😁Although it uses triple AAA batteries😢I still recommend it especially if you're on a tight budget🙃 ... show more

First, the Instructions are terrible. Pictures, symbols (what do they mean?), no text. I found good videos on Youtube showing how to use it. Very Easy. I tried on an unfinished wall where I could see from nail dents where the studs are. Worked perfectly. Full of I confidence, I tried it on the shower tile. It seemed to work perfectly, showing location of middle of the stud. Scanned down vertically with several readings in the same line. Drilled the first hole . . . no wood in sight. Tried three more readings to mid-stud. On the third I found the edge of a stud . . . or some wood. ... show more

    • I love my Dewalt tools but,
All of my power tools are Dewalt, and I didn't want to write a negative review however this stud finder does not work at all. I have not had any success with this tool. I have tried to find studs in several walls and this finder is not at all accurate. I have even tried to read the studs in walls where I have just hung the drywall and I know exactly where the studs are by looking at the screws in the wall. Nothing else covering the studs except for a sheet of 1/2" drywall, so the scanner should not be confused. Scanning the new wall was just as inaccurate as all of my other attempts. I have had several electronic stud finders over the years and I know how to use one. This one just does not work. Also it doesn't have a good shape that would feel comfortable in your hand and does not slide smoothly over the wall surface. It's going into the trash bin as it is too late to return it. ... show more
