  • This hammer is not great for taking out concrete slab over 3" thick
Style: 240 volts
I have had this hammer for over a year. I've used it for everything from taking out concrete steps to stripping tile and digging out dirt under a house. Zero problems. I have a 35 lb. Makita demo hammer but it is a little heavy for taking out CMU walls, the Dewalt does it just as fast or faster and is much easier to handle. I just ordered my second one, not as a replacement but in addition too the first one. I have a 4 month job taking out block planter walls and stripping tile. Needed more production so now I have two. This hammer is not great for taking out concrete slab over 3" thick, it'll do it but it is very slow. A bigger hammer like my Makita does that better. I have three different demo hammers and have been using them everyday for two months. The Dewalt is the most versatile and useful. ... show more

  • Dewalt 25901 is a winner compared to the Makita and Chinese brands.
Style: 240 volts
Amazing. I took time before I bought this but let me save you some time. 1. First, I bought a TR Industrial jack hammer which is new brand. It was much cheaper on Amazon at like $250. It worked well for a little bit and then died completely. I changed the brushes and did everything that the manufacturer suggested but in the end, it was dead. 2. I then had to pay $190 at the local super hardware store to rent a Makita AVT for two days. That thing rocked. It was lighter and easier all around. 3. I then started searching for a jackhammer and finally decided on this one over the Makita and the Dewalt 25899. This is their newer model and it's amazing. It is lighter by like 10lbs. It is stronger and faster. It is also comfortable to work with. The included case is well designed allowing you to hold extra bits with room to spare. I used this to jack hammer concrete as well as dig heavy clay over large areas. It is all around an amazing machine. Dewalt is my most recommended tool company lately. They seem to gather their customers' feedback and design ever better tools with each new round. If you are considering this one or the 25899, get this one. It's only $100 more but has the ability to absorb shocks better and also has a variable setting which is worth the $100. If you are considering this one or the Makita AVT, get this one. It is lighter and I think a little faster. The carrying case is also better, allowing more storage without being bulky. If you are considering this or a Chinese one, get this one. Unless you plan to jackhammer once for a two day project you are better off buying a reliable brand or just renting a reliable brand. Don't think you are saving money by buying a $200 jack hammer. You will be sorry because you will be playing the reliability lottery and sure to lose. ... show more

  • Good tool I always like DeWalt. Update: not sure now
Style: 240 volts
I had to break some concrete to rerun some sewer lines and the other demolition Hammer wasn't cutting it so I decided to get this one (bigger) and man big difference I'm happy with the purchase and the way it's made you don't feel the vibration that much. Update: (mar,30,2021) I was using it today to remove some tile I was In the middle of the job and stoped hammering so I'm gonna check into it to see what's going on, lasted me almost 2 yrs but for this price and for been dewalt should last way more then that. almost 2 years but I only used the handful of times . ... show more

  • Low cost Tool. Got the job done. WAS NOT made in China!
Needed to dig holes in an area that is very rocky. Auger doesn't work very well. Breaker bar just leaves blisters on your hands. Using one of these in conjunction with a shop vac to suck the dirt out of the hole is the best option I've found so far. Also goes through concrete pretty well in areas I needed to do that. Had to buy a longer bit to reach the bottom of the holes. Code is 32" in my area. Great Tool! ... show more

  • Very strong!!
Style: 240 volts
This is AWESOME!! I have a 35 lb MAKITA demo. Hammer also and I almost never use it anymore. This unit is very strong and can take a beating: the best part is you can use it with one hand most of the time. Wish I had bought this one before my larger MAKITA.

Style: 240 volts
My husband bought this to use in his construction business. It replaced a Bosch which he used for 30 years, which finally could not be repaired any longer. He has and likes his other, many Dewalt power tools which have held up for years. When he has used it a bit, we will post an update.

  • it works so amazing that someone else felt they needed it more than I did
Style: 240 volts
I got this jackhammer for knocking out 8 concrete bathrooms to update. I put it into my car the day that I got it and a man broke into my car and stole it. Sigh. Now I am going to rent a jackhammer from home depot and cry.
