This product has made my life so much easier. I used to trim trees with my DeWalt electric saw. It works great for cutting thicker branches — no problem at all. But when it comes to smaller branches, it gets a bit tricky. Since the branches are thin, they tend to shake and move around, which makes them harder to cut cleanly. After buying this new electric pruner, my problem is completely solved. It cuts small branches easily and smoothly without all the hassle. It’s honestly a fantastic tool and saves me a lot of time and effort. The only downside is that it’s a little bulky. If it could be designed in a more straight, vertical style — kind of like a regular electric saw — it would be absolutely perfect. Highly recommend! ... show more

These pruning shears area amazing! It made quick work of clearing an area behind my shed. What I expected to take hours took 30 minutes. I run it with a DeWalt 20V Max 6Ah battery. After clearing the brush behind the shed I pressed the battery power remaining button and it showed the battery still had a full charge! The build quality seems excellent, same as my other DeWalt tools. It cuts through everything I threw at it within a second or so each. I got it here on Amazon for $30 less than Home Depot, so it was a great deal. The manual loppers I've used for years have one advantage: this pruner looks like it could easily do some serious damage to a finger if you aren't careful. I don't see any way they can make it safer without making it useless, but don't let your kids use this thing! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This tool exceeded my expectations for the price. I tested it by cutting up a Christmas tree to fit in my trash can with no trouble at all, and I also used it to trim two backyard fruit trees. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and very ergonomic in the hand, which makes longer jobs much more comfortable. The 1.5” wide blade is a good size and works well overall. I do wish they offered a version closer to 2” wide, which would be even better. It can struggle a bit on thicker 1–1.5” branches, but it still gets the job done—sometimes it just takes 2–4 presses of the button. Where this unit really shines is on smaller branches in the 1/4” to 3/4” range, cutting them quickly and cleanly. Overall, it’s a solid, reliable tool that performs very well for the money. I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it for light to moderate trimming and cleanup. ... show more

I've known about these for a while but just stuck with my hand pruners and loppers. I wish I had bought the DeWalt pruners years ago. If you want a reliable workhorse, this battery pruner is the best bang for the buck. I use this pruner in a small orchard of 55 fruit trees. It serves both as a pruner and lopper. It has plenty of power to cut branches too thick for hand pruners. I cut branches about 1 inch think with no problems. Unit is a little heavy with a 5A battery, so I use 2A DeWalt batteries in the pruner. Even with 2A batteries it runs and runs. I have about a dozen DeWalt battery tools of all kinds. They all preform great and I have no issues with them. The only exception is a DeWalt 1.5A battery they sold me in a DeWalt angle drill kit. It was terrible and I had to trash it. It does a fine job trimming bushes, and is a nice addition to my tools. I used a large battery that I have, worked for about 1.5 hours, had plenty of charge left. It has a trigger safety, which makes it a bit of a challenge when you need to cut in tight spots, and get the right angle. Old school loppers take two hands to cut something, which is a safety feature, both hands are on the handles and away from cutter. Since you run this with one hand, pay close attention to where your other hand is at, or you may be picking a finger up off the ground. Capeesh? ... show more

Just cleared out my front and back yard from January freeze here in Florida. The Dewalt 20V Max pruning shears did the all the work ! It cut entire bushes, limbs and everything that needed to be taken out. Great tool !
