  • Best Landscaping Tool EVER!!!
My new go-to gardening/landscaping tool. Lightweight (less than 5 pounds with a 3 AH battery), versatile, ergonomically comfortable (easy to switch from left hand to right hand when getting into tight spots), easy to use one or two handed. Using with 3AH batteries - gives me plenty of time to work. I always need a break before my fully charged saw runs out of battery life. FYI - this is not in use for mere landscape maintenance. Husband (with chainsaw) and I have been slowly hand-clearing quick growing invasive trees from a half acre lot. You can’t imagine how fast these demon trees grow lol. Chainsaw is too heavy for me and way too much maintenance. This wonderful “grab and go” tool is a game-changer, allowing me to get into tight places my husband hasn’t had a chance to get to yet. Easily saws through up to 4” branches, would probably do more, but safety first. Also cuts through roots with no worries about running into rocks (my carbide blades actually cut cleanly through rocks - just once by accident, but boy was I surprised). The only thing it won’t do is cut thin, floppy branches. Since the saw goes back and forth, it just grabs those and shakes them. Minor, since I can easily cut those with loppers anyway. I would have gotten one of these years ago if I had known how life-changing it would be. Love this tool! :-) ... show more

  • Awesome tool
Love this little hack-zall machine. It is great for getting into spaces that a normal sized sawzall can't access. It's compact and lightweight so very easy to carry around or pack into your toolbox. Uses the same blades that a regular sawzall would use.

  • Way better than a regular reciprocating saw
This changed my life absolutely awesome. You can just go ahead and leave your regular reciprocating saw at home. This thing does a trick !!! Way easier to use and to handle.. very light.. this thing rocks I don’t even use my regular reciprocating saw anymore. it’s perfect for trimming bushes and trees ... show more

  • This Is A Mini-Monster
As a woman said in her earlier positive review, my primary intended use for this saw is landscaping tasks , though I imagine there'll be the occasional rusted bolt or padlock with a long-lost key, and after some testing I think its going to be perfect. I don't have a lot of land but there are a few shrubs that my wife thinks should be allowed to grow free until even she can't stand it anymore and about a third of the land I do have is wooded mostly with oak trees. Oak trees drop not only more leaves than you can possibly imagine but also branches and lots of acorns that want to grow into more oak trees. Its a constant battle to get rid of the fallen branches and the saplings. Anything bigger than 3 inches or so is a job for the chainsaw and I have a couple of very nice manual pruning saws, but power is always better than manual, especially since I'm not getting any younger. This compact Dewalt saw is light is light, maneuverable and powerful and it will save a lot of time and energy. Since tools like saws and grinders draw more power than drills and drivers, I got a couple of after-market 6 aH batteries for it and these will keep it going longer than I do. One word of caution, though. If you have any questions about your new tool, don't bother calling or emailing Dewalt customer service. They apparently know little or nothing about the tools they sell and cannot answer even the most mundane questions, instead referring you to an authorized service center. Huh??? ... show more

  • Great small saw
I like this saw! Not quite the terror (or power) of a full-sized reciprocating saw, but can be handled one-handed. Plenty of power for most trimming jobs and much more convenient than the big saw. Can’t yet speak to durability but my other Dewalt brushless 20v tools have held up well for DIY use.
